Read the rules, check out the setting history and lore and don't feel shy about asking questions if you're unsure about something. We've got a bit of errata for this server, like changes to feats, spells, class abilities and so forth so you should definitely have a look at those so you don't get caught off guard later on in levels with a character. There's always someone around that's happy to help out and answer curiosities or queries and help make the game as enjoyable as possible, especially for new folks!

If you check around (possibly with some of the NPCs you've already met thanks to that starter quest) you should be able to find some leads on other quests. Poke your nose around and ask around in character also, and you're likely to get pointed in the right direction - of course, that depends on if the character you're asking isn't throwing you for a loop.
