Since I've returned to using my desktop, I've encountered an odd graphical issue that I've never seen before.

This is usually accompanied by my character's portrait becoming blacked out, and the Skybox either repeating oddly or not seating together properly, or certain Areas that have the "window scenery" being visible around the whole Skybox.

I logged out and back in, and that didn't seem to fix it. Restarting NWN seems to revert it back to normal reliably, so far, but whatever it causing the issue in the first place is still there. To the best of my knowledge, nothing about my computer (either software drivers or hardware) has changed since the last time I used it a couple months ago, and none of my NWN have changed since then either.

So far I haven't noticed any relation to particular Areas that this is happening in. It's random, near as I can tell, and has happened about three times to date.

Thoughts?

You're just seeing the code in the Matrix.

Seriously though, changed/updated your graphics drivers recently?

If you're running Ividia, their latest version hit last week. Aren't most issues like this video card and/or driver related? Just be glad you're not colorblind....

Doesn't everyone's game look like that?

I have this all the time on my laptop. Since it previously worked fine it may be your graphics driver has been updated. Since its intermitant I'd suggest making sure you aren't having a problem with overheating. That is always when mine is the worst - when its too hot.

Hi There,

If you can go to Administrator tools then event log and see if there's any errors or warnings under the application tab.
Best way to get the error for this is to run NWN wait until you see if the issue, then go to the event logs and grab the latest error.

if you can do this and leave the event log copy and pasted onto this thread i'll take a look and see if it's anything more than just faulty graphics drivers.

n.b take a look at system as well and see if there's any errors there at a similar time to this graphics error.

Since the automatic update was lying to me and hadn't, in fact, downloaded the latest drivers, I did it manually. Never trust technology. Now to see if the problem persists; if it does, I'll post up the error report. Thanks, Cautious!

I too, see the coding in the Matrix. However, it's only after I've minimized and maximized my game a lot.

I actually see that same stuff, too, but only after I've been in-game a long time. Like...a whole reset. >.>

Okay, it has returned!
Video card drivers are up to date.
No error report in the Event Viewer, though. (Maybe I'm doing it wrong?)

Addendum: Oh, that's weird. It suddenly stopped at some point in my alt-tabbing. I wonder if that really does have something to do with it?

I had this for awhile too, then I removed nwn CQ and it's back to normal, boringly plain looking, but normal.

I had the same problem, enabling Windows XP compatability mode and running the game as an administrator fixed it completely for me.

I've had this issue as well like others it only happens when I've been online for awhile, i figured it has something to do with a graphics memory leak, it sometimes clears up when i change maps, but i usually take it as a sign i need to reboot my computer, I'll try the windows 95 fix, thanks

This happens to me. I suggest seeking out Kaytie when it does so you can see her face plastered across walls, doors and seeing her face transformed into trees. It's very post modern and disconcerting.

He's actually not lying about this. I've seen the screenshots. Very freaky to see a fat face take up walls, trees, and trash bins.
