When would be the time for a True Neutral alignment to shift to Good or evil ?

I'm wondering about this. Sometimes I sense TN players would have more fun because they could join a Good party then shifting to an Evil party without a problem. And also they could join the combat in both sides, but at different moments naturally. That wouldn't make them chaotic ? Also, I think TN is the powerful alignment on Amia, considering all the buffs and damage against evil/good. So Rping a TN should be a real task, if you ask me. But how to prevent TN players to abuse such power ?

At the same time the summonses for good/evil are generally considered better than the neutral ones.

Is this another "I lost the fight because I can't smite the guy" rant?

No, TN ain't "powerful" alignment, it's just like every other alignment in the game. TN are people who either actively pursue the balance or those who just mind their own business (that pretty much includes majority of people). In adventuring sense, they are either balance keeper groups (like druids) or mercenaries, working for those who pay. Some might have preference to certain more (alignment) polarized groups, but until they start showing constant acts of altruism or selfishness (and I don't mean giving beggar a coin or hitting him and telling him to "get a job!"), they'll still be neutral.
Also, game balance considered, everyone knows that strongest melee builds require either good or evil alignment anyway.

Also, RPing ANY alignment should be fun and challenge, not a damn task.

RP how you think your character should act, your alignment should be adjusted as appropriate as you go. Right?

Your alignment really shouldn't adjust at all without significant plot twists in my opinion. You should RP your character according to the alignment you chose for them. It would be similar to saying "I know I'm 30 paladin but I don't really roleplay as a paladin. I'm more of a fighter type."

A bit of an exaggeration of course but you take my meaning. Alignment shifts shouldn't happen frequently or easily. They should be as hard to accomplish as a class rebuild in my opinion. You're changing the core values of that PC.

When the DM's decide.

Allignment changes are in the purview of the team, you can request an allignment shift and we will see whether or not it suits your character. We can also shift your allignment if we think it is unbefitting the character.
