Heya guuuuuys!!

Hey I'm not complaining or anything or upset or whatev. I just thought i'd make a post here about an xp concern that I have.

I know xp isn't a big deal and I try not to make it that way, but I was curious. My ecl for a certain character is 15. I get roughly 14-20s killing shekats and I just happened to hunt malarites today and got around 10-14 yet they are very much harder than spiders. Why do I get the same amount of experience from something weaker to something harder?

Pretty much because shekats need an XP nerf.

lol i hope people aren't going to hate me then for pointing it out lmao. Im not complaining that im not getting enough xp, im just saying its kinda silly to get more/same experience and skill by fighting something that is easier to kill to something that is more intelligent, stronger, able to deal death attacks, etc. Lol.

Just as there is a variety of possible PC archetypes, so too are there a variety of different enemies. Just because you carve through one bunch of enemies really easily doesn't mean everyone finds it that easy.

The assumption is that you will tackle them with a party, not solo. Being in a party tends to average out the difficulty and rate of advancement for the party members compared to how they might fare on their own.

No, She'kats have been due for a tweak for a long time, Selmak.

Yeah. I'm just saying, you can't tell how difficult or easy they are for a mixed party by wading through solo.

Shecats are easy because their forte is poison, and you null that by drinking bubblies. Otherwise they have mediocre hp and like 10Ab. You really dont need much AC nor hp to survive.

they should cast web!

I never found Shekats to be easy but xD; This is a server full of powergamers and uberbuilders that make everything sound easy. Granted, I guess most people don't make 6 con wizards like me...

The poisons are awful. Their AC nor AB is not that low. Only times I can moderately survive is if I have 30+ AC there, which I don't have easy time achieving with level appropriate characters. And their sneaks hurt like a bitch. Not to mention the KD spam out the wazoo. It's a horrible place to solo in my experience, but a nice place to go with a party.

QFT. There's a lot of areas there that never see anyone, yet can provide some good challenge and fun. I usually make it a point to go through the Frozenfar for levelling my lowbies. Particularly if they have mining or herbalism jobs >>

The spiders to me are only 'easy' if you can avoid their poison and knockdowns. The webs are cast by workers I believe and rarely get most characters in my experience.

The sneak attacks can kill you very, very quickly, especially when they critical you with one and you have a pack of them all attacking one character.

Soloing there is dangerous because even if you use a bubbly potion, which I did not know stopped poison I will admit, it will wear off and normally at the worst of times.

I can't speak to if they need to have their exp lowered or their ability to kill raised but I can tell you its a 'popular' spot to level.

Reading over this thread, I've a few new places to explore it seems in the frozen wasteland of the north country though.

Endir's Point you say?

Spiders are overly easy, you can start soloing there at level 6 if you know what you're doing.

yup... and I am not going to ruin what will find there and what you will face but its much more enjoyable then the circle grind that is the spiders... and a lot bigger its always been a shame that endirs point/frozen far always seems to be ignored in both rp and leveling... *not including ratlins band but I havn't heard anything from them in a while*
