While originally written by Marauth, this OOC outline of the Glade has been updated to reflect the current direction of the faction. Among the many misconceptions about the Glade is the belief we are a group of rounded up outcasts. Such could not be further from the truth. As with the first thread, this is designed to increase awareness of the faction.
So if any individuals are interested in RPing with us, joining us, fighting us or simple interaction, they’ll have a better idea of what to expect.

The Glade Wardens: About us!
Who are we?The Glade is a small faction of nature characters as well as less than natural characters. This mainly consists of Rangers, Druids and Shifters, but also includes some from many walks of life.
What do we do?The Glade is concerned with the preservation of the wilderness, and keeping the natural world in balance between nature and civilization. Some of us follow the teachings and Dogma of Silvanus. Though a good number follow Silvanus, there are those of Chauntea, Mielikki, Eldath, Fenmarel Mestarine, even Rillifane Rallathil or more.
What do you gain by joining us?Joining the Glade would mean joining our little family like community. We’d welcome you as our “Circle-kin”, and treat you with kindness and respect. Everyone’s opinion carries weight, and everyone has a chance to voice their opinions. You would be welcomed into our RP sessions, included and offered roles to take within the Glade. These might include ‘patrol routes’ to encourage exploration of the servers and chances for RP! We have our own HQ with a binding crystal, our own space on the forums, and dedicated members who are willing to guide, be guided or join you in your RP and include you in our own! This RP will/can include IC lessons from druids or rangers or other classes.
Our Goals/Public Agenda We serve The Balance, above all and honor the Glade creedo. The Glade is dedicated to nature and the balance, and tries to distance it's self from various plays of politics of civilization. The one major difference between the Hidden Glade and the Grove is that we do not become involved in the politics of a city, town or village. If those places ask for help, we weigh that request against the whole of the Balance to see if aid is truly needed. This does not mean that the faction won’t aid when asked, it means we will not sign contracts or pacts or make deals that could subvert our oaths to the land or our various deities.
Our SymbolAn oak leaf is a symbol of nature, wisdom, timelessness, and the strength. As the ‘Father’ of the major nature pantheon, this symbol was taken and agreed upon as the current symbol of the Glade

What are the differences between the Glade and the Grove?First and foremost, the Glade does not sign political pacts or anything which is a binding contract between the Glade and a second to third party. Aiding is not the same as signing an agreement. We will aid, we will not sign treaties. The friend of today might be the foe of tomorrow if the Balance is threatened by the other. While each faction speaks of the same goal, the road each one takes is often radically different.
Are there people who are members of both the Grove and the Glade? There really should not be. While there are Glade members who are on very good terms with Grove members and vice versa, it isn’t stated in the Faction Rules that anyone except a Faction Leader should not be a part of two factions. However in that spirit and the outlook of ‘divided loyalties’ it might just be unwise to do though not against any stated faction rules. A player with two characters and having one in each is permissible.

The Glade is not the Grove. We are a separate faction, and a viable, active alternative for people who might not want to be affiliated with the Grove, but wish to play a nature-based character. This does not disclude those who merely wish to remain independent or a part of another faction all together. Also the Glade Wardens are not a druidic circle. It is a unique collection of skilled characters with mutual goals.
Quote:
"An ever growing network comprised of uniquely skilled
individuals from various backgrounds and specialties,
the Hidden Glade is bound to one another by the
bonds of kinship...and duty. We strive to be ever attentive
to the signs of trouble or unrest in the lands. To
oversee the sometimes delicate balances which exist
between Nature and Civilization.
The Hidden Glade shall move forth to aid one if the
other grows to be too great a threat to the harmony
of the whole.
Dedicated to keeping our eyes, ears and minds
alert for signs of such turmoil, we will intervene as
deemed necessary or appropriate. Watchers.
Protectors. Guardians. We stand for the continued
peace of the land as well as those who dwell upon it.
Whenever a matter regarding a change to or task
for the Hidden Glade arises, each member of the
circle has equal voice to vote in the matter at
moots or gatherings. The right to speak forth is
given freely in exchange for the promise to uphold
the tenants of the Hidden Glade. This includes the
awareness that even as you speak for yourself,
you represent others of the faction.
Just as we will not abandon one another in a time
of need, so too is it asked to stand beside your brethren.
Should there arise the need we will not hesitate to
defend that peace with every ounce of strength
we possess!"
