So I have been doing a TON of reading, which I always do before I do anything. I read the Jobs section and have done numerous searches. However, I am not coming up with how my craft weapon and armor skills are going to interact with when I take certain job like Weaponsmith. Is it an added bonus to what ever ranks in the skill I take? Can someone explain this to me please.

The skill points that you take on level up and the job system points in crafting aren't correlated whatsoever. Skill points are used to infuse mythal on objects relevant to the crafting skill.

Craft Armor: Armor, Shield
Craft Weapon: Any weapon
Spellcraft: Boots, cloaks, helmets, (everything else)

More detailed explanation is here, of course.

The job system allows you to create specific items, rather than empowering existing items. Armorer allows you to craft fullplate, halfplate, shields, helms. Weaponsmith allows you to create any weapon. When creating these items, the type of metal you use can carry with it some innate properties (mithril and adamantine come to mind). Hope that helped a bit!

So basically what you are saying is if I take 3 points refining, 9 points mining and 18 points to weaponsmith I can have best chance at making best weapon in game. Then if I keep maximizing my crafting weapon skill I can then magically enhance the weapons I have created using those Mythal I find or earn?

That's exactly right! Alternatively, you could seek out the metal traders and buy ingots of the metal itself as well. Players would likely also be willing to sell! Whatever fits your style/RP concept, really.

No. That would imply a level playing field. You need to go to as many events as possible, collect Dreamcoins like they are going out of fashion and then make a request for some weapon with otherwise unobtainable abilities. It helps being friendly to DM's also. Making your own things has the real cool points though!

Helps if you RP.

ah I was wondering the same thing with this >_> I recall having a job system glove mythal'd with a level 2 spell and it came up as craft armour instead of spellcraft? at least thats how I remember it, I wasn't the one mythaling however.

this time around I plan on maxing all three at least as far as base stats go, just incase like. crafting magical items is a good way to balance out caster characters from the daily adventures.

ed: you don't have to grab mining and refining aswell you can trade and such =) leaves you 12 points for something more spicy

You guys need to read the Mythal Crafting System on the sidebar...

You are wrong and a not-funny troll. The worst kind. The kind that get forum bans if they keep up their attitudes.

Request forum has many super weapons in it that cannot be reproduced by in-game means, so I'm not wrong. I wasn't intending on being funny, so, no matter, and.. well, call me a troll if you like. No skin off my nose. If you have an urge to ban me for pointing out that there is a higher tier of weaponry available to folks in favour, then that is your call. It's your playground, after all.

If by in favour you mean that they roleplay and it gets noticed, then yes.

Events do have a good chance of earning you DCs because the DM is basically giving you an on-the-spot chance to show them how good your RP is, but only if you work for it. Apart from events, if you ask a DM to come look at the RP that you're doing, then the rewards you get (if any) will depend upon your performance. Mind that you can't possibly be rewarded for every bit of RP that you do, but the rewards that are handed out should in theory be representative of the sum of RP that is going on.

When someone does save up a whole bunch of DCs, then getting a custom weapon or other item is still subject to their request being approved. It's not as easy as saying that Joe Player made a similar request three months ago and asking for the same sort of thing.

Luckily I don't take folk like Ummma as a representative of the player-base. I've given out alot of DC's since I became a DM and very few of them were to high profile characters. Alot of those high profile characters, most whom I don't have any sort of out of game interaction with, are good benchmarks for finding other worthy receipients of DC's because they generally RP with a broad spectrum of players.

I also like to event, and will reward people for attending my events. That is why I DM, and the idea that a player is a whore for attending my events has just earnt you a month long forum ban Ummma.

Don't fuck with my playerbase.

This is untrue and a bad statement to end a topic with. Because it implies that if you say bad things about the DMs or don't like them, you don't get DCs. That is not true. There are many folk who pretty openly make their stance about people in the server (player or DM), or the server, and they're still entitled to the exact same treatment as everyone else in the server. Including DCs.

That said, being a douche to an extreme is something we have been known to give forum bans (and the odd game ban) over, and Umma has indeed had their fair share of warnings regarding this issue. But the forum ban will have nothing to do and impact in no way theyr ability to earn DCs through legitimate roleplay. Just like the entire server.

That said, there is a fine line between "saying bad things about people" and flat out harassing, spreading harmful rumors to hurt them, and going too far. That we take very seriously and it will probably earn you quite the ban when we get our proof. And we typically always do, since we pursue these sorts of things quite doggedly. And while "being a prick" may not impact your DC income, being banned permanently certainly will.
