The White Diamond Burlesque Co. will be a high end burlesque for powerful or wealthy clients who desire a fine woman(or man) to entertain and delight them with song and dance. Every weekend the WDBC will host Burlesque shows featuring its scantily clad girls performing musical numbers, plays, dances, and other assorted entertainment. On the week days the WDBC can host parties for other factions, places and make calls for events.

The WDBC will be a respectable business(of sorts), having only the most charming workers. The workers themselves will be guarded by the Madam Wyxtra the White(who is no offense a powerbuild, so she will not have a hard time protecting her employees).

As Host/Hostesses/Waitresses, the employees will be paid to spend time with the clients. The employees choose how they wish to employ themselves as long as they do so for the clients(but their will be entertainmnt provided)

The main goal of the faction itself is to entertain clients and guests of the house, all the while making money.

What is needed and required:

1. All characters(except guards) must have either a couple levels of Rogue or Bard, as well as increased CHA. I'd prefer bards mainly...but rogues can be accepted.(Guards are exempt from this)

2. All players involved(meaning in the faction) by agreeing to participate waive escapement of Perma death if they betray, infiltrate, or otherwise harm the faction as a whole(this is to keep spies from simply waltzing in without fear of consequences)

3. All religions are allowed, provided said religion is kept outside of work.

4. I would prefer players who can meet at American time zones(I myself am Pacific Standard time). This is only temporary until I find someone in another timezone as a partner who I can trust to help run things while I am away.

5. Cybering is strictly prohibited. Any players involved in the guild who are caught by a DM doing such, I would ask the DMs to report it to me, where the character will be fired, then terminated(as per rule 2). That means even if the DM lets you off for first offense.

6. All employees will collect fees BEFORE performing their duties as Host/etc. A thrity percent cut will be taken for the House(and no not my pocket the money will be entirely devoted to rent, advertisement, and so forth)

7. In the Burlesque ALL employees save the guards and Madam will be scantily clad(or at least dressed in a sexy fashion), after all we need to leave something to the imagination but a little skin is always good...but no complete nudes. This will be a very tasteful Burlesque.

Alrighty..now that the rules have been set forth, we'll need characters who are not only attractive, but unique, slightly witty, and sure of themslves. To that end I have some special circumstances when concerning what exactly is attractive, what is expected, and how many are needed in terms of numbers.

What is attractive is relative to some people(eye of the beholder and all that) so the numbers of types of employees should be not exact but close to these numbers.

To that end all races/sexes/creeds/religions are allowed provided they have high cha concerning good looks when concerning their race(ie a goblin...but a pretty goblin to other goblins)

These are important in terms of providing the most diverse options for clients...that said, we also will take gnomes, dwarves, golbins, kobolds...anything actually....provided they have these basic traits:

1. They must provide good company....and sometimes be expected to be able to conversate about a variety of topics. (characters of low intellect will not be taken seriously nor considered for employment)

2. They must be willing to sometimes do...unorthdox things...since we are providing services to the clients they may have a perticular type of party that requires costumes and such.

3. Must be willing to undergo examination by the Madam, to ensure every body part is in working order and that there are few scars(this is done a more professional doctor patient way).

4. Must be willing to maintain their bodies and try to keep scar free(there is a caveat to this though. Atleast one person may worship those like Loviatar and such, any scars they do to themselves is only by their own choice. They will be more expensive and only be scarred or hurt as they are willing to endure.)

--------------

I also need a couple guards. I would prefer any race but they must have the tall and brooding Orc phenotype body(thin or fat). They must look imposing...and height matters. These guards will not be entertainment...they are there to guard the Madam or the entertainers.

The employees themselves are the most important aspect of the business..without them there would be no business....as such any employee being harrassed in the Burlesque(or even if they dislike the character) can call a guard and have said nuissance thown out. It'll be the customers choice whether they wanna leave in one piece or many.

Employees however cannot ask guards to attack anyone outside the Burlesque. The Guards will however defend the entertainers if the entertainers are physically threatened.

This is also a partially criminal organization of sorts. We will shelter outlaws, provide hiding and information, and other things....for a price of course.

Our House will not discriminate. All business is welcome. In order to maintain a good relation with the city I actually find an open house in to use, we will donate a small portion of funds to the city itself.

The Clients themselves are the second most important thing after the employees. The clients are to be treated with respect. To lose clients is to lose the very foundation of the business. The clients themselves are to be kept in secrecy.

Side jobs are prohibited(meaning to get money from clients on the side without giving the house its cut). Tips are not included in this. Every employee will have a set price so the cut povided to the house will always be the same unless the price itself changes, at which point the Houses cut will also be adjusted.

I am halfway to getting the money I need for the largest place availiable for a month...but I am not going to purchse the place until I have an idea if players even want to be involved.

Anyone who finds this idea interesting may post on this thread, and express their ideas for their perfect escort character. Though I have set guidelines above for what types of escorts I am looking for....I am always open to different things(tieflings, aasimars, you name it).

Feedback would be much appreciated.

Even though this may seem rated R...it's more like the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, starring Dolly Parton...which actually showed a whorehouse in a very tastful manner.

I'm not entirely sure that the DM's would go for this, then again this is Amia..stranger things have happened..

Should it be accepted, I'm certainly interested..

I assure you and all players that as far as my plans for this kind of RP drow slave RP is ten times more gross, disgusting, and nastier than this

I have many thoughts on this, but the only one that I think I'd care to share is that "Burlesque" doesn't mean what it seems you think it means. Unless you're going to be staging vaudeville acts in addition to running whores.

Yes I am staging acts every weekend. Hence the Burlesque part.

And I prefer the term escort to whore. These escorts will be well tended and very much cared for. A whore is some lone hooker you find on the street...

No paying for sex on Amia.

If your talking about simply verbal companionship with no paying for sex, then fine. But know we have a strict rule of no whore RP on amia. That includes no paying for fade to blacks. Its why you couldn't ever interact in a buisness exchange with NPC whores in south cordor.

Also, no suggestive replacement words. If you think your being smart by replacing words and running really close to the line of cybering, your not. The team will kick your ass for this.

We also do not advocate cybering in any form. If you go off the server to do something, know it won't be accepted as fact on Amia.

Hmm... yeah, you said that. Sorry. I guess I was just so floored by the idea of someone wanting to run a whorehouse that the thought of that sort of crowded everything else from my brain for a sec. :)

They are not paying for sex they are paying for a companionship...if it leads to sex though it's up to the escort.

I don't know what ideas people have about what kind of place I plan to run but know this. It is not a whorehouse where someone comes in and says "How much for a blowjob"

That person will be immediately kicked out.

It's payment for companionship, a date to go on dinners with or to fancy balls or meetings with...not a cheap prostitute who is all dirty and only wants the money to score booze.

It is in fact run by a lady who is in fact ladylike and expects the same out of her employees.

Thats a pretty blurry line that is.

Is it any more blurry than what goes on with drow slave RP?....which seems(and I know for a fact firsthand) a lot more crude then what I have planned.

Never said I agreed with drow slave RP either.

But I'm saying its a damned blurry line. I'm not saying "don't do this". What I'm trying to make clear is that it will only take one slip up for me personally to come down hard on everyone involved.

Also,

Quote:
5. Cybering is strictly prohibited. Any players involved in the guild who are caught by a DM doing such, I would ask the DMs to report it to me, where the character will be fired, then terminated(as per rule 2).

They would also be banned from the server.

Furthermore.
Quote:

If your not doing whore RP, why is this a requirement? Shouldn't it rather be that your selling how attractive a character is, not how much skin they show? I suggest you change this. Its not in the spirit of Burlesque. Its also highly suggestive that your actually just doing whore RP.

Edit: Infact, the more I read the first post, the more I'm of the opinion you've just tried to hide the word "Whore" under "Escort". Which is effectively what most escort places in western society do. I suggest you look at Japan with its Hosts and Hostess clubs if you want to take this avenue.

I can't sell sex.

But sex sells.

Scantily clad is not a crime. People do it all the time near pools and at beaches.

Think of it as "Hooters" Faerun style. At hooters the waitresses don't bundle up with sweaters whilst they serve you chicken wings. There wear tight little shirts that make their breasts almost pop out at you.

I mean sex sells in that sense.

Hooters waitresses don't get paid to go out on dates with characters, and told that "you can have sex on the job, but its up to you".

Edit: If you weren't focused on the sex/cybering side, you wouldn't even offer people an alternative to "No Cybering".

So what you're saying is that I can gather slaves and rent those...but I can't do it when the person is willing?

What is the difference between this and a scantily clad merc?

Hell by your logic we shouldn't have mercs, slaves, or babies either. Remove all children and babies from all the game then, since they weren't made by the stork coming down the chimney.

If only.

In any case, if you want my honest opinion, I'd drop the escort part entirely and run with the burlesque performance bit. It's more apt to attract people, given that companionship of any sort is easily found on Amia. Nobody's going to pay for it.

Slaves aren't rented for sex, you seem to be advocating it. The entire concept seems less focused on Burlesque, and more focused on sex/cybering.

Reading the first post, I get this underlining vibe of "We don't tell you to have sex/cyber, or advocate you breaking server rules, but thats what we are expecting".

Indeed, as DarkDarkistan says. If you want to go this route, drop the possability of sex completely.

The problem would disappear if you took out the line about sex happening at all. The only kind of establishment like that which would work on Amia is one that forbids their employees from having sex with clients after they've been paid. Because no matter how you look at it, if money has left the hands of a client and he/she ends up in bed with the "escort" that night, it is by definition whoring/prostitution.

He's got a point. Nobody's gonna pay for something that they can just get by being themselves ( should be an agreeable person).

What bias?

That we advocate cybering? We don't. In any situation. Whore or otherwise. The difference here is that in no way is drow slave RP to lead to cybering. Its about having a slave for menial tasks, protection and sacrafice. Its about the PC in the slave role being degraded. Its not about sex. Where as your concept is completely devoted towards the idea of throwing two people together into a situation in which they may or may not (but secertly should) be cybering.

My opinion, however void it may seem, is this:

-Hold off on whatever it is this "company" is aiming to do. Try to make it more..agreeable with what Selvec and other players are trying to say. Take a look at several different kinds of host/hostess clubs, etc. and decide which kind is the best interpretation of what you were trying to accomplish (barring cybering/whoring out other players). Try to put a little twist on it, make it out of the ordinary. And remember, this is supposed to be fun for everyone.

Totally agree. I find the idea of a song and dance club as a great place for people to go for a drink and socialize, discuss business, etc; it can compete with the Nomad or the benches in Bendir. Escorts just aren't as interesting to me as the song and dance bit.

If/when this takes off, I will immediately be forming the Amia version of Vagabond Opera. Because it's awesome.

My issue with this is that the concept is a bit all over the place, as you explain it.

I'd also like to see you with WAY more bard levels. But that's just me being picky.

Telling people to play homosexual characters and the like. It seem a bit odd. The list of PCs you need is a bit much.

PS with all the lesbian characters about...what's wrong with asking for such? I am not telling them to play anything...I said what I needed....it's their choice. I know there's a gsay male out there somewhere in the world who wants to play a scantily clad gay male elf/human...I'm informing them that yes...I'll accept you.

The drow are great and exciting...I used the act of enslavement more than the drows involvement...sorry to drow players if I offended.....I meant slave RP altogether....but c'mon...who knows more about enslavement RP than the drow players?...that's a compliment BTW

This is a bad topic in every sense of the word. A bad idea, explained poorly, presented poorly, with a TC slandering every other concept under the sun and then claiming bias when they rightfully have it thrown back in their face, and then demanding several things that no player has a right to demand. You really couldn't have gone about this a worse way.

I know my opinion doesn't matter one bit, but to me this just seems like getting as close to the no cyber rule as possible and there is nothing preventing peopl from taking it over that line outside nwn by running a chat program in the background.

I'd like the idea of being able to hire various sorts of gender and racial entertainment, but like this...
Well its not up to me, but here where my 10 cents worth.

ok noticed the new version... still have some simular doubts about it thought...

I think the main problem is that this concept is bottom-up. You've defined all the basics, but not really the purpose for having them. What you need to do is define the purpose and then decide which of the basics are really essential and chuck the rest.

For example, if you were to put on a scripted play every week, then you would definitely need performers. Their state of dress is dependant on what that performance needs to keep the audience engaged and interested. I think that after having scantily-clad performers for three weeks running the novelty will have worn off. Your mileage might vary. What would be really important is speed-writing an hour to two-hours worth of play that isn't crap, and find a way for the performers to express it as more than just pasting from Notepad... you would need to have one rehearsal at least to work out some of the problems, and so on. See how state of dress kind of falls to the bottom in terms of priority? ;)

Whatever your final concept turns out to be (the above is just a briefly-illustrated example) bear in mind that you will have to manage it, it will be a lot of work and it may tap a lot of your creative juices, so be sure that you want to make that sort of commitment. Or bring in several partners that you trust so that you can have a week off and the show will still go on.
