A quick reminder to those of you running NwN on a mac.
The soon-to-be-released Mac OS X Lion (10.7) does NOT support Rosetta, and will therefore NOT run any PowerPC application.
Neverwinter Night is one of those.
If you intend to upgrade to Lion, make sure you have enough space on hard drive to keep a bootable partition with Snow Leopard.
There are many different ways to check if your other favorite applications will work. Easiest is to CMD-I (read info) on your app icon and check if type is set to "Application (PowerPC)". If yes, then you're doomed, unfortunately.

Actually, to its credit, Apple has created what has become perhaps the most stable running platform for Windows. It's what I do and I will swear by it!

The Windows version of NWN should just run fine on Lion with Wine or something, and you can always put a linux partition on an USB stick with the Linux version. Has the additional bonus of being awesome and allowing you to haul NWN around between any number of computers. Windows through Bootcamp on a Mac requires different drivers which (rarely) are made available by Apple and need to be installed from within OS X, thereby hindering upgrades to address issues with older versions. All operating systems have their uses, and have things they are best at. You use the one you want given what you wish to do.

I installed XP Pro on my MacBook Pro.. I use OS X for 99% of everything I need, and Windows for when I wanna play games. I can't imagine trying to play NWN under Rosetta.

The only special drivers are for the current generation MacBook Pro when using Windows XP. nVidia doesn't make XP drivers for the 320M, but Apple does. If you're using Windows 7, you don't need anything special. The only thing Apple provides on the DVD is a control panel for managing Boot Camp. You don't even really need that because you can just hold down the Option (Alt) key at boot and select which OS you want to run.

Even with integrated Intel graphics, I can run the game at 1920x1200 with max settings. I gave up on CrossOver or Virtual Machines. CrossOver is hit and miss (usually miss) and VMs still can't do 3D acceleration well enough. I found it was easier just to buy an OEM XP or Windows 7 and avoid the headaches. Or if you're morally flexible, just grab a Windows serial number so conveniently displayed on the case of any PC at your local computer store. I find it hilarious that companies actually do that.
