At the scribe desk it takes a god awful long time to get text onto paper or a sign.

I'm working on a poem, and I had most of it written down and then the damned thing didnt print a line, and I didnt know it, so I posted the next line, now the damned thing is screwed up after 45 minutes of work. Is there a command line to erase the last line posted?

As far as I know, there's not :/

I feel your pain. The best thing to do with scribing is to write it out in notepad or something with the command in front, just like you would in IG. Then copy it over and check to make sure it is on the sign, then keep going.

NWN is such a pain sometimes lol

Scribing shouldn't be possible unless you have ranks in the job.

Currently, there is no profit in taking any ranks in scribing when you can just constantly Ctrl+V things till you roll correctly.

You are doing it the hard way. Be responsible and work ahead to mitigate your losses. I make multi paragraph scribe jobs in 2 or at most 3 minutes.

Janna has 3 ranks in scribe.

Yoss. I am trying to get a poem down, and want it to look like a poem... how do you do it? are you saying that it will take multiline cut and pastes?

If you are doing a poem and you want it line by line, then you need to do it just like that. Key is to make sure you see in the log that you succeeded in the rolls. I wasn't the other day with Salema and couldn't figure out why the description on the sign wasn't changing... then I realized my derp mistake XD

To do line by line, just do the ds_j append [text] for each line that you are scribing. So:

ds_j append [line 1]
ds_j append [line 2]
ds_j append [line 3]

And so on. That's how you'd want to, because each append command bumps you to the line after your last text on whatever it is.
Also, if you want a blank line, ds_j append [spacebar] works for that :D

Question related to this, if you have an item that you scribed that is a large text. Is it possible to have it cloned, even if that means paying a dc or something for it? Have something that took nearly two hours to get done that I would like to not have to repeat. If not no biggie, just thought to ask before I spent another two hours doing it.

Note: Copy/Paste doesn't work in the Mac OS version of NWN.
