Hello,

I've not played Neverwinter for a while now and wanted to get back into it, the problem being that I can't update to the 1.69 Patch.

The nwn updater doesn't work and is giving me a link for the Critical rebuild which doesn't work anymore because Bioware seem to have got rid of all Neverwinter Nights based webpages!
The link is:
http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch_english_hotu.html#crit

Additionally, I've downloaded:
NWNEnglish1.67OrigUpdate - Critical Rebuild File (Apparently)
NWNEnglish1.69OrigUpdate - Critical Rebuild File (Apparently)

When run, both say that my current version (v1.59) is unable to be updated by these files.

I could really use some help getting my nwn updated so i can come back to Amia, thank you for your time.

What's the exact message you're given? And are you running the update files under administrative priviledges?

That "Orig" in the files youre downloading doesnt look right. Whenever Ive downloaded the Critical rebuild the filename has looked more like NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe.

Yeah the critical rebuilds are for after youve updated NWN normally see if they have a normal patch to 1.69 then do the crit one.

Google search revealed this.

http://www.shacknews.com/file/75/neverw ... -patch-169

No idea if it works or is valid etc. Blame google if not.

I have the actual working critical rebuild as a zip file if you need it.
It's been a huge pain in the ass for me, since i had to reinstall like four times. >.<

Thank you for your support so far, I checked out the link Feonir, but that is a link to the file I already downloaded. Which didn't work :(

I've made some 'progress' though. Some idiot hosted a file that claimed to be the latest (v1.69) patch and has backdated me to v1.25! >.<

Here is a print of all the text displayed when running as administrator:

Note:
The 'http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch_english_hotu.html#crit' webpage doesn't seem to exist anymore, I can't find anything to do with NeverWinter Nights on the Bioware website anymore atall!

Try this one.

I really don't like the look of those "__Orig___" downloads. It should have HotU in the filename if youre updatingfrom 1.59.

I posted a link a while ago...

Orig is nwn ORIGINAL. Not HOTU. God knows why you'd want base NWN 1.69, but there you go.

Here's the link. It's offical, straight from Biowares main download server. Links are still active, webpage is just down.

Might as well edit that link into one of the R&L threads. Handy.
