Is it possible to delete a character? I tend to use the first couple of levels for testing purposes mostly, and recreate a lot until i find a build that 'suits' the character. Unfortunately, this also means i get to flood the archive with a bunch of low level characters. Is there a way to delete these without pestering a GM about it? Are Archived characters cleared after an x amount of time?
Also, max level. I was browsing around on the official NWN site when i noticed a couple of builds that went up to level 40. Max level is 30 here, right?

Yeah, the max is level 30.
And as for deleting characters, I don't think that's possible here. Instead, they're indeed archived and you can do that with the Shout Channel commands; 'f_file archive' or so, I think!

*nods* Already archived them, was just wondering whether it was possible to delete them since they don't have any RPs logged to their name anyway. They're just wasting space atm.

Righto. I've somewhat gotten the impression that the DM's won't delete characters. I could be wrong, though.

It's the general policy, just to avoid second thoughts and tears about lost characters. It's nothing more dramatic than that, but there's typically no need to delete characters.

An amazingly big character file is 1Mb, which is an epic with a pages of bags of holding filled with items with long bios. I can't imagine the server that hosts Amia even caring in the slightest about a low level character's .bic file. Don't worry about clogging the server's HD.

You can make a LETO request to have unused characters moved to a separate folder. That way they will not even show up in your archive or vault. It's the best way to unclog things from a player perspective.

A... LETO request? And how would i do that?
The way i've been doing it is that i've noticed the archive lists characters in alphabetical order, so i simply used f_file rename to rename them to zzzzz_delete1 through 5. That way they're all neatly bunched together at the bottom of the list.

@Amyante: I'd recommend downloading a module like this. You can also enter the debug mode to test in the single player campaign. It'll help cut down on loads of characters with failed builds. @hercules: The max level attainable here on Amia is 30. I'll add that you should articulate your posts a bit more, it may get you more responses.

What he meant by debug mode, is when you're in single-player, hit your tilde (~/`) key and type "DebugMode 1" without quotations, afterwards, hit the tilde again and type "dm_givelevel **" (and then click on your character when your cursor changes) with the asterisks being the number you'd like to give. It also applies in a negative fashion so you can minus levels also.
Things like "ModSTR **" "ModCHA **" with the asterisks being the amount you want to add or remove, and so forth are also useful for applying your racial bonuses on the first level of your character after it's created.

Yeah, just remember that the stat modifiers quoted on the site are for that subrace, compared to human stats, which are all 8 to begin with.
