Post subject:  What inspired your login?

Pretty simple and straight forward, I see some very clever logins from time to time and it makes me curious; what inspired yours?

Zephyr of Discord = I created this account a few years back to hold my evil characters separate from my main, which I don't use on Amia... It came about from the nautical term for an elusively strong wind and I added Discord, making the login a play on the phrase "Ill wind", it no longer holds just my evil characters, it holds all but a few of them, with a variety of alignments.

Rhapsody.in.the.Rain = this one's a bit odder in origin, my real name is a rearrangement of a famous actor/singer/dancer from the late 50s early 60s, one of his best remembered films was "Singing in the Rain", I used another word for song and used it to pay a polite nod of respect to the actor and to my home state of Washington, who's climate so closely resembles Uhm's.

Being Fearful of Nuns.

Could also be an awful spelling mistake of a drow from a novel.

My own brilliant mind. I hate the "uncle" part of my forum name, though.

Laktavian: Nothing actually inspired this, I just kinda thought of it and used it. Though it is close to the country name Latveria, where Doctor Doom was born, so that might be some of it haha
Naivatkal: It's just my NWN name backwards. So classy! lol

There was a topic like that in off topic years ago but it probably got eaten. Anyway: Hedrack is the evil priest of Zuggtmoy in ToEE, my first DnD book I've read. So I typoed but kept the nick anyway.

Easier to spell then SinForgiven and because of in my past I've done some stuff and was thankfully forgiven by others :D. It can also be because I am religious, but I don't really like it when people act differently to me because of it, but thankfully none has! ^^

I also like the name Sin. I find it very awesome.

redvsblue was taken. I picked a random similar name. Didn't realize it sounded racist. Later tried to correct it with a decent forum pic.

Post subject:  Re: What inspired your login?

The log-in stuck but I have had the same one from 10 years ago.

At the time it was to convey a juxtapose feeling of who I am as a person, someone sweet but shouldn't be 'messed' with. Why I secretly chose the word ravenous in particular was because I had an eating disorder. Although, that no longer applies today the word ravenous had morphed into my need and obsession to succeed in my personal goals. Even that has waned from time to time, it serves as a reminder of the past.

The faerie part of my log-in is more simple. I like faeries. They are small and cute or evil and packed with mystery. Just like me. That still applies today. So the log-in has stuck around like a nickname I was bestowed upon and it just stuck.

I think I made mine when I was young enough to think it would be cool to be tech savvy and an internet hacker. Just kept it cause I was too lazy to change it. I think, depending on the atmosphere, I might also tell you that "Its because I hack stuff to pieces." But.. in the effort of honesty- yeah, it was a moment of weakness as a kid.

I made mine because of Bladen-Kerst Baenre in the War of the Spider Queen series. She was a chaotic, and ruthless drow who even her mother feared was too evil.

In high school, I did something weird. Can't remember what exactly. A friend said, "You are so odd!" Another added, "He's the wizard of odd." I decided that they replaced the "z" in Oz with a "d", I should do the same for the "z" in wizard. Thus was born The Widard of Odd. It's been my online handle ever since I've been online.

Grymia: Grymia is a deity from one of my homebrew settings, specifically a deity of Travel, Fate and Luck. He is known as the Wanderer and his philosophy can best be summed up in the tune 'Life is a Highway' . xD

Ooo, fun topic.

I'm Bezekira10913. A bezekira is a hellcat, which I just thought was a suitably strong and fiery thing to be named after. But just "Bezekira" was already taken, as was "Bezekira1" and "Bezekira01" and then I got irritated and just went with one of the numbers that my boyfriend has decided are his lucky numbers (his name is Jim, and 10913 = 10, 9, 13 = J I M). He's the one who originally introduced me to NWN and Amia.

My character in NWN (PC game) was Cuda, since I couldn't import him to the online server (Narc's Bonds of Blood), I made up Cuda's half brother (bio and all) who was named Kudark by their respective father (Kudark's mother was half-Drow) as a cruel joke. Kudark could never live up to his older half-brother's reputation, so he left for Termes (BoB).

The name Kudark I just kept as a login because i know some players bounce around servers.

Lack of creativity "inspired" my name. ::nod nod::

From what I managed to scrounge up of Latin, LetumLux should mean the "end/breaking/destruction of light" - it was multi-character screen name I used elsewhere as a catch all for my bad guys/antagonists/evil dudes, especially those in the Werewolf: The Apocalypse setting. It ended up becoming my default "gaming handle" since it was rarely, if ever, taken and L is an underrepresented letter.

Was about 10 when I made my first ever "Silent" account, I think my friend passing wind inspired me. It was silent and deadly, therefore, seeing as I was a big counter strike nerdling I too would be Silent and Deadly, then I just nixed the deadly part as time progressed and I lacked the creativity to come up with anything original. I also appreciated the irony as I am anything but silent.

A long time ago, on a Blizzard server far, far away...

I was, once again, going back to play Diablo on Battlenet and was having a very, very, very bad day.
Everytime I went to an area, I was ganked in under 5 minutes. It was like...
uh, wait, what, uggg... splat!... well, that was a fast kill. Time to respawn again...
so, out of pure frustration, I made a warrior to go off and die repeatedly...
and thus, was Splat Phastkyl born.

Thank you all for your responses. I am always plagued with questions as to why or how things happen or are done, and many logins are or can be a source of amusement if you can relate to them. Not too many need "NeedMoreCowbell" explained, least ways Americans, but to others it can look like a random thing. Its just fun to know the creativity that goes into them... or the randomness.. or even sarcasm...
