I was warned about my "tone" in a request thread, and with all due respect I have a question to ask.

Since it is our right as players to make requests, why is it time and time again that I see request threads locked just because the player reacted to unfairly being called a liar or a cheat merely because he or she forgot to post a piece of information, or reacted to a generally snotty tone from a DM?

I understand that you might feel that everyone is trying to manipulate you, but it sets a nasty tone on the forums when you treat every request as an attempted manipulation.

Is it too much to ask for a little civility? Please? Maybe not to jump the gun and accuse the player of malfeasance so quickly? Nobody likes being addressed that way. Respect goes both ways.

I think you misread that. If someone asks you to be careful about what you say and how you say it, they're trying to help your request. The staff volunteer their time, so it is important to make your case without maligning any of them. Otherwise there is the possibility that they will want to spend less time on your requests.

It seems you didn't properly listen to that very same warning about tone you reference since you felt the need to make this post.

Locked.

Requests are not a right, by the way. They are a privilege that can, has been, and will be taken away if it's abused.
