I have a question for those in charge, a fair one I think since it affects my one and only toon on the server considerably, perhaps to the point of me parking him.

It has come to my attention that the only source of certain (quite important) spellcomponents has vanished from the server. Well not vanished, but are no longer available, meaning, in time they will vanish. To the best of my knowledge the Monolith had a monopoly on those spellcomponents it seems. Components in question are for timestop and IGMS. This does bring up many questions actually and there are alot of people from what I gather from the buzz on the server that would like to get answers, yours truly included.

Now the purpose of this thread is -not- to discuss -anything- of the sort whether this or that should or should not be nerved and so on. So I would ask everyone to refrain from posting such posts here. The post is also a calm and polite one, like it to stay that way.

Here are the questions:

1) When will another merchant/store be set up to replace the monolith?

2) Why is there only one source/shop/merchant for these components?

3) Is there some other ooc reason for the component's vanishing?



Those in charge here have decided there is a need for these components, so it's a server issue, i get that.

On the other hand how it has been executed makes very little sense from a rp standpoint imho. It makes little sense that the monolith would have such absolute control over these components. Here is just a few of many reasons. First off, as I understand it, Amia is set in the FR. The mages in say Waterdeep are not dependant upon the little monolith on Amia for their spellcomponents and teleporting to any location in the FR is a simple matter. In Silver's case the enclave of the Shade city certainly is in no way dependant upon Mystrans for anything. Some of the mages of the enclave are even shadowweavers, and they as such have absolutly nothing to do with mystrans in any way.
Second, would other communities on amia, let's say the drow community, be dependant upon Mystrans for this, and accept it? No, war break out over much less. Same could be said for Tarkuul and others.
I am aware that the monolith vanished because of the plots played out ingame, but having the comp. go with it seems somewhat peculiar unless there is an underlying ooc reason.

So respectfully, If anyone would give answers to these simple questions, I think alot of people would appreciate that. Thanks for reading.

Tormak: Ofcourse players playing arcane spellcasters will want to know this, duh. Not really sure why you would refer to this as "bitching", a perfectly calm and reasonable question, presented in and orderly manner,... but each to his own. As for my char, the wording was "perhaps to the point of" and the reasons are mostly of rp nature I see no reason to discuss.
