Everything's described in the conversation window if you read it. It's fair to assume that whatever items you'll end up with from the order you pick will be restricted to the classes and/or alignments suggested for the order. The only thing that's not listed though, is the price.. which is 300,000 coin. That one really should be listed I think >_> But there it is.. I won't divulge more since it'd be sort of cheating to know what you might get before getting it.
I suggest picking something that's both IC for your char, and close to the char mechanically (classes, alignment and build). Same as you'd do for any other items really.

Ooooh it has price?
I didnt mean exact things you get, merely what it does do... convo is very very vague and general.

I have been wondering about this too. Even after reaching the required levels stated in the conversation it doesn't say anything about needing to pay for anything. The conversations all just lead to ending the conversation. Had kind of given up on trying it anymore.

Pardon if it's noobish to ask, but what's this 'kitted' business?

You suck it up and keep it in your invo like all the Monk Techniques you learn?
But seriously, probably to keep people from selling it to other people. I'm not sure it's exactly necessary now, though. From a lore perspective, plenty of armors of exclusive sects get out over time (I mean, there are Gloves of the Hin Fist everywhere, and those guess are borderline Hermits). And with the cost, and the fact you can only get a kit once, I doubt you can resell them to a vendor for more than you bought the entire kit. Selling to PC's is another thing, but such is an ICly valid action. You can resell stuff from the Sorcere, the Monolith, the Rogue/Assassin store, and a lot of supposedly exclusive-upon-pain-of-death places.

Is there any definitive listing of what orders/gods have kits attuned to them? Side bar only hints at "Major gods," but does that include Greater and intermediate deities or simply greater?

There's just some big orders. Most gods don't have major monk orders anyway. Probably the ones listed in FRCS. I don't remember, but isn't there a dialogue to show them?
They're really just some flavor gear though, don't wet your pants over it.

Yep. Both of my monks never bothered to get one of the kits. Then again, both of them are from homebrewed orders/martial arts.
Though I was told at one time, there is nothing wrong with taking one anyway, and claiming it is from your made up order. Just try to pick one that is closest to the idea you have.

In terms of Orders? None in specific from lore, but Ardok did begin an Order in Nesek under Luthor's request.

They do have an actual Order, Ardok started it. But no, none from lore. That's not to say that there aren't any, just that there were never any detailed specifically. Iaide is well aware of it as well. Let's not turn this into another what's up with the Hoarites thread, get in game. ;P
