Okay, for awhile now I've been seeing heads that aren't in my headpack. I've downloaded like 3 packs so far (1 with 2 parts, 1 that says "just the new heads") and I can't seem to find the one that gives all these new heads. So my question is: Which heads exactly, do I need to download? These are the ones I have:

viewtopic.php?p=123369#p123369

and "Just the new heads"

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RF2CE4NO

So what am I missing? lol

On your first link; did you DL the amian head and hands pack?
If you start with that usually everything is solved.

Assuming of course you isntalled correctly, which I am sure you did :D

I'd PM Mahtan. The Headpack is a continuing work of art and unfortunately has not been well documented or updated on the website...

Yeah, but there's still heads I'm seeing on players that aren't available to me. (Examples are: Pigtailed head, gypsy hair head, and a couple others)

Some of them aren't selectable when you make the PC, which is when our handy DM team come in to change them in-game for you. It's free, too! But only if you're nice.

This yep. If you can see others with them, then the head pack is working fine. If you are seeing no heads then its either that player has a different head pack, or you don't have ours.

The one in the sidebar is the latest one. For the best install, get rid of all the other heads in the override folder first.

I believe I'm one of the offenders. Thogught it was a CEP head at first, but tranny confirmed that the head I have is in a head pack.

On a side note... Still wouldn't mind some more male tiefling heads with medium sized horns. So far still only the standard one, one with tiny horns and one or two that are horned but I wouldn't count as anything near human enough.

Okay, I'm getting a bit irritated and confused. I chose this head (picture after the message) for my new character, Zoe. I had "fixed" the headpack before when I was seeing a strange bughead with huge eyes. Now I'm getting a bunch of people telling me that they see the bug head. I checked the head pictures here and I do not see it on the list now. But I also do not see the bug head on the list, either.

Maybe every instance of headpack download links that is not accurate should be deleted to prevent this sort of confusion?

I'm bumping this to draw attention to it. Fix your headpack, people. I hate having to wear a hood to not have to explain why my character doesn't look like an anime goat.

I -think- so. If the majority of people see it one way, are they right or wrong? Most people see the anime goat. I would like some clarification, please.

Both the .Rar and .7zip versions of the head pack where fault and badly constructed on release. The 7zip one had repeated heads, and the RAR one had half the files in one folder, and half the files in another. I know the 7Zip one was fixed. I'm not sure about the .rar one.

A lot of people where also unaware the head pack was even updated. This would not be an issue if the head and hands packs where added to the bloody HAK.

Cookie, the 7Zip one is the only one I know for a FACT is fixed and works correctly. It has all the correct files and is set up correctly so you only need to extract it.
Since there was no word from Disco about the others being fixed, I'd consider them suspect.

This one is correct.

Its also from Amiaworld.net, thus making it legit to, unlike any links to megaupload or mediafire.

Have the pictures in the Lore been updated and aren't the headpack heads supposed to be viewable through the toolset even if not viewable through the client?

I'm seeing some heads in the toolset that are not there in the pictures through lore as well as seeing some heads in game that I cannot find in the toolset. I've rebuilt the override folder so that's not it.

There's something odd going on. Yes, I've tried the override folder rebuild from both the Rar and Zip files as well as a fresh install of the latest Amia hak.

Some heads are just not showing up and it's *points directly up at the picture* -that- head that I'm trying to find. Does anyone know what number it is? I see something close to it in 159 but it's got the face with short bob cut hair do, not the shoulder length.

Any aid is hugely loved.

I saw that head as Zoe's and I recently redownloaded from the 7zip link sooooo *shrugs*.

Maybe lots of people just have the wrong ones? I'd almost suggest destroying all the other head packs except the 7zip one. It seems to be the only one giving exact results and actually working correctly. Somewhere there is clearly an out of date link that newbies are using.

The images are exactly whats in the head pack. If you have something else, then there could be more options...I think I may download an MDL viewer and check myself, just in case.

Edit:

I highly suggest anyone with CEP put Amia HAKs in their own separate folder and use that. It seems CEP2's heads cause issues with override heads. Which is a common fact that's been known for a while. CEP2 & CEP cause weird issues with Overrides, particularly heads.

I do think there seems to be some heads that are not seen in the toolset that are available however. As I have seen Zoe's head as shown in the image, but I have NOT seen it in the toolset as an option. Furthermore, the bug head should not even be a choice for female heads. I'm not sure why people see that head.

If you happen to know what number Zoe's head is, and her race that would be useful. I'm guessing Human Female.

Also whowever did the neck-head alignments, your needed to do more work again. Those new heads added are all over the place.

I just had a look at the MDL's and that head Zoe has seems to be missing.

Now here's a theory I have. Maybe the HAK has some heads in it. Not all, just some. That would explain why some heads that aren't in the head pack seem to exist.

I'm reading this and wondering if the numbers/pictures on the head reference sheet are wrong, and I should follow the numbers in toolset? 'Cause there's an elven head I like that I can only see in my mod that has the Amia haks, so I grabbed the number and looked at the reference sheet...yet the head wasn't the same. And yes, I just made sure I have the new head pack.

*confused*

If the head is in the image sheet, and the numbers are different, then there is probably a chance that the numbers in the reference sheet are right. With a few heads when I've asked a DM to change it to a certain number I found in the toolset, it's been wrong. I'd suggest you just take a stab, and if ones not right, get the DM to change it to another.

So there could be heads that aren't in the head files? Interesting. Though it makes it rather odd since it seems as though there are heads in the head pak that are likely meant to be NPC only but heads in the hak pack that are up for mutual grabs by PCs.

The hak does have head models. Yeah, it was tricky trying to make the override and hak work okay together. It was mostly done that way to separate NPC heads and Player heads and still keep the hak size down.

There could be issues or a mistake in there somewhere. =\ I don't have the time to dive back into all the head systems and such. I never seen Zoe without a hood so I can't say if its right or not. Since me making it, I should have the heads that were intended to be there.

Also the heads pictures on Rule and Lore are not up to date. Right when Merrien fixed them, we found issues with the new hak update and the current pack so we had to do lots of editing with removing doubles, removing those weird anime heads, etc. As for some heads not appearing in toolset/in creation, that's just how it is. The game can actually only hold up to 200 heads total in toolset, Toolset never shows certain heads, Creation only shows ~50 which can show some heads toolset doesn't.

We can have more than 200 heads, but its impossible to ever see them without use of NWNexplorer, or in game head changers.

Then they indeed have the broken anime tiefling goat head that we removed. Because the head in your screen I know we added when we murdered that head. Very likely we replaced it with yours now.

Hmmmm. Yes the images in the R&L section are the exact ones I see in the toolset. Nothing else.

Thing is Mahtan, the actual file names in the 7zip download only go up to 199 for the human females. So they fit the images shown. There is a bunch of heads in the head pack that make human females look like the hunchback of notre dam. I'm thinking Zoe's head is one of the heads in the HAK for that very reason, because I can't find it anywhere in the human heads, but I see it as shown in game. She's not the only one that has that head, there are a few female characters with it.

When planning my new character I decided to use the same head Zoe would use. My mind //could// be playing tricks on me, but I am pretty sure I saw the number of Zoe's head as 75.

Do not ask me how or when; nor take it for granted before checking. I just have this vague memory that I saw it under that number.

Ah ha!

From 49 to 100 the heads aren't showing! That's a full 50 heads that are missing from the toolset.
There are files present from 49 to 100 of the Pfh0 files. So there is something missing and going wrong. No wonder some heads seem to be present while others don't!

Edit: Looking at how the others work, 49-99 should not exist. They will not show up. I think someone has tossed in the heads 49-99 with the heads from the old head pack. This is why they don't work and that's why some of the heads that where removed seem to be apart of the new pack.

Edit Edit: Confirmed! There is a bunch of heads between 49-99 that do not show up in the toolset! I have a module with an in game head changer which lets me look at them. Head 76 is Zoe's head. I'll upload the module so people can view the heads easily. You'll need Amia's latest HAK's and that should be it. There is also a bunch of empty heads, which I think is where the ones from 49-99 are MEANT to be. Also there seems to be a lot of duplicates. It could also be that the ones from the female big phenotype don't exist, because I found a number of heads that exist for one phenotype and don't exist for another phenotype.

I think I could quite easily fix this by swapping the heads that list between 49-99 with the ones that don't show up. But at this stage, that would mean a bunch of people would likely have the wrong number as their heads. Which will cause some work for the DM's when a flood of "I NEED MY HEAD CHANGED!" things come in. Its only for female humans. The rest are all fine.

Yes, that's what I been mentioning in my last post. You can find heads in creation that toolset doesn't show. Creation may have 75 heads. So it gets you some of the 49-100. Best way to see all heads is a module with head changer or NWNexplorer. Bioware just has issues with heads 49-100 and its creation never expected you to have that many heads. =\

Its just limitations in the system.Unless there is some updated toolset or something we will never see those heads there, but they do exsist and can be usable. I can make 100 more heads into the 300 range, but no one will ever see them unless they use one of the two methods I said above.

Some of the female heads you see empty are actually strange... if you put a head in those ranges you get Null corrupted white heads. If you can find a way around that please do. Its kinda like the males helmet heads. Those only show up in creation and if you try to put a head in those ranges, you get metal textured heads because the game overrides the override...

Hmmm. The thing is, on the other races/genders the heads are all in 100-199. None are listed in 49-99. There are no empty heads for the other races or genders.

Yeah its only female humans that want to be a pain in the butt some reason. I stop questioning it. =\ If you or anyone else successfully get a head to work there, awesome. I'm questioning if it may be somewhere in one of the 2das. But far as I seen there is no headmodel.2da

Yea. Weird. I'll switch some numbers around and see what happens. I got the "no head" bits using my in game head changer so yea.

Edit: Interesting. It's not applying the .plt files in those blank spaces, that's why it shows up white. The white things are just the base MDL without any PLT's.

Some are also left blank purposefully for possible additions of "monster heads" Disco wanted. I think the list still exists somewhere on the forums. Probably DM or Designers.

I wonder why it refuses to apply .PLT's in those slots, how odd.

Edit: Oh wait! Unless they are reserved for the mounted heads. So when you mount a horse the head MDL gets transferred to that number slot, but the base .PLT stays the same number. As the base .PLT doesn't need to be transferred, but the .MDL does since it's applying to a different spot on the mounted pheno's.

That would make a lot of sense.

Glad I wasn't the only one then. =\ I've had this bugging me since the first head pack I updated.

I'm assuming they are mounted heads slots. As that would explain why an MDL shows up, but a PLT doesn't.

Apparently CEPv2 uses their own custom head.2da file they made. I'm wondering if perhaps that might be something to look at.

Hmm. Probably could be something that simple. Shame we can'y find a way to force those into 200+ It also does explain why we first noticed some problems when 1.69 came out.

Probably. Bioware made a bit of a hash of 1.69.

Oh do me a favor since you are looking at them right now.

The name of the file, ex. phf#_head050. What is the #? The # Represents the Phenotype. Mounted Phenos should be 3-6

Just 0, same as the rest of them. Which is the base skinny model I think. Fatties are 2.
Which begs the question. What's 1?

Phenotype.2da says its "Skinny" which seems to not exist.
0 is named "Normal"

Selvie, I made a backup of my override folder and then deleted all heads I had in the copy.

Then I uncompressed all the files in the link you give somewhere in one of the posts above, but I could not see the new heads upon character creation anymore, Zoe's head included.

Did not try to see on Aurora Toolset, though.

Any idea what could have happened?

You won't.

They can't be seen unless changed by a DM, or viewed in that module I posted a few posts up using one of the NPC's to change your heads. They are there, you just can't see them in the character creator or the toolset.

I know. But before doing that, I could see Zoe's head. After deleting all the head files and uncompressing the file you linked, Zoe's head disappeared.

The heads I could see on the Toolset are still there. The ones that I could see only upon character creation are not there anymore.

I will check your module and then if everything is still the same, I will restore my backup folder.

Gimme a moment and I will update you about it.

EDIT: Ah! I have that module. I think it was there that I saw Zoe's head number, even if my memory recalled it as 75 instead of 76. xD

EDIT 2: Yep, they can be seen there. Only not change color of hair, eyes and lips. I wish we did not need depend on the DMs to change the heads, though.
