I have recently obtained my second rank in Bow-craft and was wondering if we will ever be able to create a Composite Longbow/short-bow? Or if we just need to use a mythal (witch is very possible to obtain the +1 Mighty). also whats with making Masterwork Darkwood Bows deal extra Piercing damage? don't they already deal Piercing damage? from what i have noticed it doesn't make it any better, in fact it's worse. When a normal Darkwood bow gets Extra Bludgeoning damage. only other noticeable difference is the Quality of the item. So please tell me if there is something i am Missing, or please clarify my misunderstanding of these item attributes. Thanks in advance. |

After doing a little more research i realized my whole point was pointless because there is no difference between a Longbow and a Comp longbow, (i blame my stupidity on the recent move.) so please delete/Ignore the whole topic, i'll be sure to investigate a little more next time before hand. (hopefully when im not super tired) |

No need for deletion, it is still a bug in the job system. |

Bowyer do not produce any useful bows that will help you once you get a +1 composite bow. It's more for novelty stuff, like making gift bows and such. It's what my char's been doing with it at least. If it should be extra damage bludgening, suddenly it becomes a possible very useful bow for AA types |

...Does the Job system bows look any different from Normal Crafted bows? Like, Job system weapons are HOT. Are job system bows 'Hotter?' |

Of all the crafted bows I've seen they all seem to be the typical traditional longbow. I haven't seen many, but of all of them I have seen the biggest variation in appearance comes from the colour and not the shape. |

Also duskwood bows should REALLY not get Extra damage type bludgeoning. It'll boost people that focus on archery up so insanely much by mythalling it.. Like against certain monsters or Bosses such as Maxi that have immunity to just about half your damage... EXCEPT bludgeoning bludgeoning bows should be insanely hard to find, not easily obtained job system stuff imho. |

Ok, Here's the Test results.
Only bows have Extra Ranged Damage ; Piercing. Crossbows are just plain. @ Gravemaskin.

on a similar note, is ironwood bows still bugged? I tend to enjoy the benefit of light weapons to mythal (ie mithril and...I forget with bows, its been a while.) I imagine the main damage benefits would come from the arrow crafting rather than the bows. also the colours are different, they are not exactly the same as regular shop/loot obtained bows. colour 4 looks black/blue rather than (vise versa, again, its been a while.) ed: ironwood bows, following the matrix instuctions for parts, comes up with an error saying something along the lines of 'components required missing' as if to say you need ironwood and ... ? |

Also are weapon and armor smiths able to make +1 Weapons and armor? if so perhaps allowing us to make Comp Longbows that have a +1 Mighty point for normal and +2 Mighty for masterwork would be Awesome. it would make the bowcraft job a little more even compaired to the other weapon crafting systems. i would personally like to see the bow-craft system become a little more useful then just gift giving. With the way it's set now it's all based for RP witch is how it should be, however as stated before once a player get a +1 Comp Longbow that makes us Bow-crafters obsolete IMHO. i have talked to others in the server about the Bowcraft Job and was told the reason it's not as good as the Weapon & Armor smiths is because it would cause inflation in the market. im not really inclined as to how that would work out. Is the Extra Ranged damage better then having Mighty? Up until about two weeks ago i had no idea what the Extra Ranged damage did. i kept looking for extra damage from the bow, but a max hit still only delt 8 damage. (without the DEX bonus) so i was very confused. at first it didnt seem all that better to me, but perhaps i was going about it the wrong way. But as i have said i would like to see the job system become a major part in the server. May i ask for others opinions on the matter? |

ERD: Bludgeoning has been in the mo and iis incredibly easy to get, as are arrows tht do ERD: Slash/bludgeoning making your arrows "All type". Stupid archers. |

According to the description I read, Ironwood isn't one of the wood components usable for bows. The ones they list are: Yew, Ash, Duskwood, Darkwood. |

TormakSaber wrote: There's bows that exist, too. Stupid archers. Yes, I'm aware. I'm just saying that it should be harder to get that property for the same reason it's hard to get it on melee weapons. Not that there shouldn't be ANY of them ingame, just think they should be harder to find IMHO. |

Quote: 255 | Ironwood Bow | Bowyer | Bowyer's Workbench | Ironwood Planks | Ranged Weapons | 311 GP and yes you can get (at least) add 1 AB not enhance, through crafting, though I will not be revealing which and how, you should do that icly. |

I've always assumed the reason that you had the abundance of damages from bows AND arrows that were fairly easy to obtain was the lack of keen on either to sort of balance with the melee types |
