Not sure where else to put this, but hi! Been looking for a role-playing environment for a while now and I like what I see thus far of the rules, setting, etc, etc. I've been role-playing for around six or seven years now and tend to hold to a narration-type of emoting which reads much like a book.

Thus far, I've started a custom variant I came up with called a 'Spirit Warrior' who uses similar principles to a monk, but uses a weapon instead of martial arts. Though I think what I'll trouble with most is trying to find a group to role-play with or what-not, since especially in a big community like this, quiet characters are more often ignored than paid attention to.

Not to say she wouldn't talk (her name is Naniko), it's just that it's her first time outside her shrine and she's not very natural with going up to strangers most of the time. So, here's hoping that I get a small hadicap for that. =P

Cheers.

Hey! Welcome to Amia. You're gonna' love your stay here. :D Just going to go ahead and let you know, though - if you intend on your character being a Spirit Warrior, not a Monk, you'll need to make a special character request in the requests forums. However, if you're just going to make Spirit Warrior a fancy-pants name for your monk, then that's fine and dandy (akin to me calling my barbarian/fighter a berserker).

At any rate, hope to see you around in game! :D

That's pretty much what I am doing. Spirit Warrior is just the name of a build I found and decided to run with it RP-wise. Thanks for all the welcomes though!

Welcome to Amia! In the case of emergency, exits are ... pretty much nonexistent, to be honest. You're trapped here. Trapped I say!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I'm certainly liking the server quite a bit ... even with it being a large community, when Naniko talks, others seem to listen. It's nice.

On that note, just as a minor curiosity, are there any Harpers around?

On the harpers, I'd say look in the DM Stories thread and check some of the most recent postings of the Amian Recorder Back Issues and decide for yourself.

Are they harpers, or are they all part of Mr. Hurst's Wild Ride?

I'm not exactly sure myself.
