Last few nights (GMT) Server has been acting really weird. Ping timing out and kicking everyone out and then not resetting correctly.

Was just wondering if there was any consensus on just whats been causing this?

I am assuming you mean Amia's.

But why acting up all of a sudden?

I've noticed this happen from time to time too.

Not just the lag walls where EVERYONE gets disconnected but like.. localized disconnects.

Everyone from the US going bye.. then at a later random time, Europe goes poof.. etc etc.. It's great fun.

Well not really, but it's more healthy to laugh at it than gnaw at the keyboard in frustration.

Disco mentioned ISP:s having problems all over the netherlands when I asked him about one lag spike.

That's a bit crazy. It's not all that localised either. At first I thought it was just all the folks hanging out in the entry lounge but as it's a persistant problem well yeah, it's either the ISP or something at server level.

Last night for instance, there was a message from the [server] saying that something had been done to the items and that it should temporarily fix the problem.

Well, last Sunday I had issues connecting to anything USA from my own computer, so I assumed it was something in the Netherlands. It wasn't the server itself, I am quite sure of that. No CPU spikes, no network spikes.

Tracert (do a search on it for explanation) the server from your place to find out where the hickup is.

It's been happening all night. Can't really play without logging on, lagging out, DC'ing, unlagging, then DC'ing, only to repeat the process. I'll post a tracert soon.

Still, a ping of 194 ms isn't that brutal.

Yes, 194 isn't bad. But I assume that when these massive DC's happen and lots of people drop, their ping reaches ~, not 194.

Its worth noting that the same issues crop up here in the UK. So not just across the pond it seems.

I'll restart the PC. I get this feeling it has something to do with waiting updates.

While I think the storm may be causing some issues, I'm not getting dropped packets until I get to the following node csw-1.cpl-mkb.grafix.nl [217.67.247.26].

If it was the storm I'd expect them as well at the other two Netherland's nodes along the route at

r1.ams2.nl.as5580.net [80.94.64.82]
grafix-gw.r1.ams2.nl.as5580.net [78.152.63.22]

I believe the both of those are in Amsterdam? (I could be mistaken)

I've also had the connection to Amia go out (the same perticular grafix.nl node timing out) while doing my online DJ gig, with no dropped packets to the gaming radio servers, but that link goes across Telia.net from Atlanta to London then to the server in Amsterdam.

Before I stray too far, the all of that together is telling me it's not (entirely) a storm related issue.
