I can't find any outside of Server B do none exsist on A? If so is this just an over-site or did the DM/Devs really want someone to have to go way out in the middle of nowhere to churn butter and make cheese?

I had my PC go to Uhm, Wharftown and around Cordor. Since he is a lowbie, by then I was too lazy to go to Kohlingen and check that area. Did you check there? If you did, we are both either blind or, indeed, there are no butter churns/cheese vats outside Amia B

Good point, and now you have an avatar as well.
Yesterday I finished a page that allows me to check all the Job System's resources, trainers, and converters from the web site. Hope that will help me to make sure stuff is evenly spread.

Well, I am actually looking for somebody who's as obsessed as I am with maps, ecology, geology, and fantasy games not being excused for not making any sense in those departments. I want to put resources in sensible places (granite in volcanic mountains, sandstone in sedimentary mountains, for example). It will take a lot of stamina, Wikipedia, and Excel sheets, so don't apply if you're in for a 5 mins job.

If you could clarify more what you are looking for I might be interested in helping. I know im not hardcore but I can help here and there with whatever general knowledge you wish to pick my brain for.

I know a thing or two about that type of stuff. I'm not an expert or amazing at it by any stretch, but I know a bit. If you want the help, I'm here.

Two years university studies with maps, ecology and geology here. Several years playing fantasy games and lord of the rings read to me as bedtime stories when I was a kid. Moreover, one month free time. What can I help you with?

What I want is a good look at all the islands we got and a good theory on how they'd got there (ie: geology), what kind of climate they got (ie: ecology). We also need to have a look at the resources and look at the geology and/or ecology they appear in. After that these two lists need to be combined.
And get yourself an Avatar, Modesty.

Sweet, the first of the things are actually right in my comfort zone: Oceanography and Plate Tectonics. I'll give it a looksie. I have a graduation to go to right now though, so later. God daughter. ::nods::

It will take a lot of stamina, Wikipedia, and Excel sheets, so don't apply if you're in for a 5 mins job. To sum it up, from my memory: You have Forrstakkr. Far in the north with a volcano in the middle? The climate is what we can find in Canada in our world. Even though we never see any summers there, there must be since spruces are growing there. If there is a volcano there, then igneous rocks should be common, otherwise just stick to sedimentary or metamorphic. You have Brogendenstein far up in the north. The climate is like in Forrstakkr but there is definitely volcanic activity in the middle. Still, there is the “hot spot” where the orcs live. It must be made of igneous rocks like granite. Frozenfar, another place with winter all the time but with spruce and pine growing in the area, as in Canada in our world. There is volcanic activity in the area, telling me that there must be igneous bedrocks in the area. You have Amia main island. It has the climate we find in Denmark, England or Germany, temperate climate. Warm rainy winters with nearly no snow and long humid summers. No earthquakes or volcanoes. Sedimentary and metamorphic rocks should be common, like sandstone and limestone for instance. You have Lumorier but that island has sunk below the waves, giving it can be any kind of rocks in the ground. I only visited it once before it disappeared but it seemed as it had the same climate as Amia mainland. You have Ruathym. The climate is as in Scotland or New England. There is no trace of earthquakes, igneous rocks or volcanic activity. I suspect metamorphic bedrocks like gneiss. The most peculiar thing in these islands is the lack of lakes and rivers. Khem, the desert island should be made of sedimentary rocks to be able to create those amounts of sand. The common desert on earth is actually filled with pebbles and rocks, and not sand. It’s also close to the equator since the temperature is so high so the sun evaporates rainwater faster than it falls even though it is an island in the sea. You can compare it with Baja California or Morocco on earth. Alamber sea, it is quite possible that the shores are made of sand from coral reefs and limestone is found further out in the sea in the form of ancient mounds of corals growing in the warm water. Abyss, so much sand. It just has to be sandstone there, but at the same time it might be millions of years of eroding down granite bedrock. Underdark This kind of long caves can only be made in limestone. Compare it to Mammoth caves in USA. There might be intrusions of magmatic or igneous rocks but to 99% it should be just limestone down there.

Like Granite Limestone Clay Fire agate Diamond (and so on...) That would make it easier to help you with suggestions about where it's natural to have the resources. [edit] Nevermind, I found it myself. http://www.amiaworld.net/about/ds_j_resources.php[/edit]

Sorry I didn't react... yes, that's the stuff I'd like. I'll add some notes...
You have Forrstakkr. Far in the north with a volcano in the middle? The climate is what we can find in Canada in our world. Even though we never see any summers there, there must be since spruces are growing there. If there is a volcano there, then igneous rocks should be common, otherwise just stick to sedimentary or metamorphic. All volcanic rocks, and it's the coldest place on the server.
You have Brogendenstein far up in the north. The climate is like in Forrstakkr but there is definitely volcanic activity in the middle. Still, there is the “hot spot” where the orcs live. It must be made of igneous rocks like granite. All volcanic rocks, with maybe some sediments near the port. It's warmer than Forrstakkr but colder that the Frozenfar.
Frozenfar, another place with winter all the time but with spruce and pine growing in the area, as in Canada in our world. There is volcanic activity in the area, telling me that there must be igneous bedrocks in the area. All volcanic rocks again. All three cold places are part of the Spine of the World.
I always keep Ireland in mind for Amia. I should make a Peat resource. There are earthquakes, though.
You have Lumorier but that island has sunk below the waves, giving it can be any kind of rocks in the ground. I only visited it once before it disappeared but it seemed as it had the same climate as Amia mainland. Yups, but gone islands don't produce stuff, so ignore it. I guess this would be limestone and geomorphic layers (aka marble)
You have Ruathym. The climate is as in Scotland or New England. There is no trace of earthquakes, igneous rocks or volcanic activity. I suspect metamorphic bedrocks like gneiss. The most peculiar thing in these islands is the lack of lakes and rivers. Well, Ruathym has lakes and marshes. I did model it a bit after Yorkshire and the Scottish coast. That means old volcanoes and limestone.
Yups, sandstone agogo. I also think about copper and tin, for making bronze.
I'd stick with sand.
Underdark This kind of long caves can only be made in limestone. Compare it to Mammoth caves in USA. There might be intrusions of magmatic or igneous rocks but to 99% it should be just limestone down there. It must be volcanic, seeing that it's right under the Frozenfar.

I mostly agree with what modesty came up with. The way I look at it, in short: Khem is a continental island with weather similar to North East Egypt. Like the area near and around the city of Cairo. Brogendenstein can be a continental or volcanic island and climate would be similar to Northern Norway. THink the Tormso area. Frozenfar would be on the mainland, if I'm not mistaken. I see climate there being similar to South East Iceland. Forstakkr would also be on the mainland if I'm not mistaken. I see weather there being akin to Central and Northern Iceland. Amia, I agree with Disco. I've always thought of it as akin to Ireland in climate. Wiltun and Mystras Monolith would be the ones more akin to England's climate. Caraigh more like Scotland. Now, the tricky thing to me, in regards to plate tectonics, is that the Moonshae's, Ruathym -- where Mystras Monolith and Caraigh are very near and possibly a part of respectively, if I remember right -- and Amia can be seen two ways. They can either be volcanic or continental islands. To me, they make much more sense as volcanic islands. When I think of the Moonshae's, Ruathym and Amia, I think of South East Asia. I'm talking the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Again, in regards to plate tectonics and island types, not weather. The thing is, there is no real evidence of volcanic activity on Amia in it's history. In my opinion, a flaw at creation because it makes it hard to explain it's existence. These islands, in my opinion, would have been created by volcanic activity. Amia, I can see as being a place of past volcanic activity. Amia would perhaps be near a convergent boundary between a long continental plate that extends into the sea and an oceanic plate ( see this for an example, but, the plate types are like this). The Moonshae's and Ruathym would be made through the same process, but perhaps they still have strong volcanic activity. They appear, to me, to be either young or old islands. If young, they would have high volcanic activity. If old, they would have little to no volcanic activity. That would explain their "spottyness" as the islands either rising though volcanic activity or sinking due to lack of volcanic activity. This theory would also support there being earthquakes around the area. Most would be so small, you couldn't feel them, but there would be some large ones every once in a while too. This also opens up the chance for some really nasty tsunami's possibly! That'd be fun RP. Anyway, those are my two cents. If you'd like an image of what I can picture the plates near Amia module lands would be, let me know and I'll draw something up.

Forrstakkr isn't the mainland, it's even further northwest than Amia is.

Hmm.. nevermind my opinion on Forrstakkr then. I had a totally different idea of where it was for some reason.
Oh, and just as a general guideline, the Spine of the World is -for sure- a plate boundary. A convergent boundary of continental on continental plates (think the Himalaya Range). Makes for some monster mountains.

Yeah, and I made Brog and Forrstakkr parts of the same ridge, a bit like Iceland being the top the Atlantic Ridge. In this case the Spine just dives into the ocean with some tiny bits sticking out here and there.
I'd treat Amia and Ruathym like Great Britain in terms of Geology.
