Hello everyone!

Recently I bought Neverwinter nights from EB Games down here in South Australia, logged on and came to find that some how I'm banned from Amia. Not quite sure how that works?

I've never had any interaction with Dungeons and Dragons, or any other forgotten realms games.

I aquired NWN and the two expansions from the pre-owned section of the store, and just wondering how I'd go about getting unbanned? I notice that Amia is quite a populated server, and coming from an MMORPG that has a high population, I'd like to join Amia and check it out :)

I've been reading alot of Drow RP stuff on the internet after looking at Amia and Arelith and I'm so impressed.
Hopefully it'll be a quick resolution.

It could be one of several things.

* Download the Amia Haks, place them in your hak fold and update them with the latest versions. (You'll see them on the sidebar, there should be instructions if you're not sure what to do)
* Update nwn
* Ask the DMs to activate your cd keys on Amia's security system

If you're brand new, those are the first things that come to mind.

Your using legitimate NwN cdkeys?

Installed your HAKS files?
Installed your tlk file which goes in a different folder?

Hey Chris,

They're all legit CD keys. NWn is fully updated and everything is all installed correctly.

Should I PM you my keys so you can check it out?

Hi Nekhy.

yeah, done the checklist. No errors except the boot.
When I tried to join when I didn't have the haks, it told me which hak was missing. This booting message is new.

Also: How long does it take for you to be booted? Do you get to see your character in-game and in the Entry before you're booted, or is it instantaneous? Login-black screen-boot?

Login -> Character select screen -> Made character -> login -> black screen for 2-5 seconds -> You've been booted box :(

Hrm... It's possible (but unlikely) some git used a key generator/cracker to try to bypass Amia's security after they got themselves banned, and they got a key similar enough or identical to yours, and then got found out and rebanned. If that's the case, your key might be on the ban list already. There's a few dipshits out there who're bloody persistant, so we've got a lot more CD keys on the ban list than actual people.

best bet is to try to catch an available DM to log on (or one who is already logged on) to check for a server-side message that might pop up when you try to log in.

I'm at work now, looks like the previous owner of these games got his CD keys banned. Looks like an easy fix, bobo is just waiting on confirmation to unban the key.

I didn't take offense :] I think all s/he was trying to say is that there's more rp out there other than the underdark. I'll definitely be trying both flavours and see which I prefer, I was keen to make a female drow cleric, alternatively I don't know what surface race or class I'll try.

I'm just looking forward to get online :]

Nah I meant both flavours as in trying a drow and then trying a human or something.
I've been doin some reading on drow and I think I'd like being a revered priestess :P I don't like being the one being whipped :P

However, as a word of caution from a fellow Aussie to another, the Underdark in our timezone is generally pretty quiet. Don't feel shattered if that's the case.

If you do play a drow cleric, you'd better be planning on making her a "weed-out-the-weaklings-and-the-traitors" type. The underdark seems to be seriously lacking of them.

I love Drow culture, but I like to play with others.

Well, if you're into drow I'd suggest you pick up a few Forgotten Realms books and browse the UD forums to get comfortable with both the canon lore and Amia specific stuff. ;)
