I am attempting to make armor on the anvil used in the job system inside of kohlingen, only it own't let you make ironwood armor there, is there another place to go in order to create iornwood armor or am I missing something?

It should. Are you using Ironwood planks or logs, the anvil won't process logs, only worked planks.
