I have looked at the changes for the RDD class and i find some of the things such as the vunlerabilities and to the breath weapon decent enough but i find the decrease in ac from lvl 4-9 and the -4 str at lvl 10.....not making any sense.

I mean yes dragons have vunerabilites to certain elements thats all good but come on people you got dragon blood in you, your skin gets scale like that choulc give you a bonus to ac and im sure that if you have dragon blood you should be gaining a +4 str not losing it.

Im sure the DM's have their reasons but cant they change it a bit like a +1 ac from lvl 4 - 9 or no ac change from that and a +2 str its just a thought.

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

You gain +4 normally when taking the class to 10, the -4 negates it.

Okay thats cool but what about the -1 ac that doesnt make sense

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

The changes have been put into place by the DM team for balance purposes. Frankly, I'm not inclined to see any change on that front.

Sweet Cheesus, no.

I could go into some of the RDD abominations I've seen, but likely most people have at some point or another. Amia actually made RDD a rather tasteful RP class while removing the "wtf?"

Hmm alright i guess i can see where your all going at still nothing like asking some questions to get some answers

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

RDDs used to get +8 STR and +4 AC. All that Amia's modifications do is halve those cheesy bonuses. You still get extra AC and STR for going draconic, just not as much.

Looks like a resounding No in the polls. Otherwise, they are more balanced here than anywhere else I've played.

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

The only correct change is to make the strength at 5 and 10 instead of 2 and 4 but this requires invalidating a whole hell of a lot of RDDs and generally isn't feasible.

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

I'd love the ability bonuses to be distributed more evenly, but it would be too difficult to do that many rebuilds unfortunately.

Author:  Dark Immolation [ Fri, Jun 04 2010, 1:20 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

The bonus progression doesn't really make sense as it is, but I see no reason to change it. It would likely only upset the people the take it for 4 levels for the STR bonus anyway. Not that I care about upsetting anyone, just saying.

One thing I would like to see implemented for dragon disciple is this: let the elemental immunity increase up to 100% at epic levels of the PRC. Maybe at lv 15 RDD or so hit 100%. Add the vunerabilities in for gold and red if you want at lv 15 too, but it would just be nice if you could still get %100 immunity if you character is really intent upon becoming "all the dragon they can be".

I don't care about upsetting those people because they're blatantly abusing a class for the strength.

Is it sad that I only ever took the class on other servers just for the wings?

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

Yes. The class is rich and full of RP potential and is almost never used to its fullest. I will be egotistical and say to date I still believe I have done the best RDD and PM on the server, or very, very close.

Rras trumps you because I've never seen your RDD.

Author:  Yurell [ Fri, Jun 04 2010, 5:21 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

RDD is your chance to RP your character exploring their draconic heritage, gradually chipping away with their research to discover their ancestry and, if they're not repulsed by it, embrace it, unlocking the draconic blood within them as they become increasingly like their ancient progenitor until they undergo an apotheosis, taking your draconic heritage to its fullest potential.

Or you could use it as an easy way to get stat boost. >.>

Touche. Rras is very very good, but he is not a Dragon Disciple technically.

I forgot to edit my post: My RDD was another server, my PM was here. My bad.

Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

Ok, im not sure if this goes with this topic or not. However, it does speak about the RDD class set. Im not going into details about the changing of the stats and AC boosts.

What im going to say is this. Dragons of all kinds, the adult dragon, do they get True Sight? If they do, is it possable for a dragon kin to have the same bouns? I was thinking about it one day, and they only way I see it is, if someone takes rdd to 20. Either Bard or Socerer as the base class stopping at 10, and rdd taking the last of the 20 lvs for the server cap. Would he or she get the same bouns as Adult Dragons?

Author:  DerkDerkistan [ Thu, Jun 10 2010, 3:23 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

Perma True Seeing is WAY overpowered, especially given the nerfs to the spell.

Author:  Yurell [ Thu, Jun 10 2010, 4:07 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Discussions of RDD: perhaps some changes

I doubt you're likely to get that. You become more of a half dragon, anyway, not a full dragon, a transformation which is complete at 10.

And as Derk said, perma TS is way OP.

What about my suggestion, letting immunity scale after lv 10, and hitting 100% at lv 15? (along with weaknesses if necessary).

Automatic deletion of the character at RDD1? The server could do an old-style LETO message before it kicks you - Your character is a whoreson and will be kicked before it gives us all syphillis in 6 seconds!

No, my thoughts was at lv 20 for RDD, however, as a few have already said, its a no. My question was answered, nothing more.

I'd say if the DM's are willing bite el bullet and scale the damned twat pinger of a class properly.

+2str at 5 RDD +2str at 9RDD.

Just my opinion.

I agree. The bonus should be distributed more evenly, and not +4 str at once. And aslo, as dragons do have better sight, could it be possible to give +1 spot /2 rdd levels to represent this? i mean, it wouldn't be overpowering, but nice add to the dragon abilities, taht are supposed to grow the more the blood effects = more levels they have.

Incorrect

The correct answer is:

No need to give the silly frontloaded class anymore silly frontloading.

They can see in the dark. Darksight at level 10.

But yes, I would agree with Moshing, it does need more boni, what it needs are its boni to be spread out more.

Not likely Lathandier, I remember RPing with Tormak's DD(not using RDD, seeing as he wasn't Red), and it was quite interesting and enjoyable.

Not saying it's impossible, just saying unlikely.

Why hold your own standard of Rp against anothers standard of RP?

As long as everyone enjoys it?

For that matter, there are badly Rped RDD's but the same goes for elves/Drow/ and pretty much anything non-standard human. Yes, even the human subraces get RPed badly.

Rion wasn't a Dragino Disciple, just a Paladin/CoT. I'm talking about an old Sorceror/RDD I had on a server that you wouldn't have seen. No big, I wa sjust being a bit ego-y over a character i'm particularly proud of.

People rag on RDDs more because it's a ot more obvious what people take RDD for, than just playing an Elf or etc.
