Yeah, I hate them for not making the bloody NWN configuration simple. Why is it always a problem for game companies to make game configuration utility that would allow to change every option out there that could be changed via editing the ini/cfg files? A windowed mode, for example. I've just migrated to Win7 x64 and I just can't force NWN to start in the Windowed Mode. I've tried editing the nwn.ini file and have changed the Fullscreen line to false and have created a new line before it, that consists of an EnableWindowedMode=1 string and you know what? I doesn't work. NWN still starts in fullscreen. The funny thing is, that every NWN FAQ out there states that different strings are to be added/changed. I've read about AllowWindowedMode in conjuction with AllowFullscreen set to false, and even EnableFullscreenMode set to false EnableWindowedMode set to true... Gah!
So really... I have two questions...
1) Where's the proper ini file responsible for storing the video config in a multi-user system such as XP/Vista/7 is? (I'm pretty sure that's NOT nwn.ini)
2) What are the proper string arguments I should enter?

Bah! Finally after a long, long search I found the answer...
It's nwn.ini, okay... :oops:
Code:
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1

So another variation...

Don't forget to change your resolution as well, otherwise it will start in full screen mode also. You may need to hit alt-enter to switch between modes, though.

Its because the game was originally made at at time when windowed gaming wasn't viable. These days it is, by the time that came about Bioware couldn't make such modifications to the games option menu easily without causing massive updates and potentially game breaking glitches. Editing the games interface to have these extra features would have cause more issues then solved them I imagine.

Yup yup, and so far it doesn't look too bad. Still trying to be a tester for them though.

I saw some of the backstory and nearly cried.
A fleet of ships to feed a trillion people? That's at least E13 kg of just food for a week, not including water, other supplies and the mass of ships to haul it. How did they think that would save them?

What was even worse was the shield generator that was the only thing protecting a major planet from being reduced to slag from orbit. So the Sith launch a ground assault ... against how many to defend a major world? Let's see, the Siege of Constantinople had eightythousand defenders, the Battle of Berlin was eight hundred thousand defenders fighting two and a half million attackers ignoring armour, artillery and planes. So a major planet should be able to throw a few tens of millions, right? And if you intend to invade one from orbit, you'd have to have hundreds of millions of troops, right?

Well, it turns out you ony need to raise four thousand troops across an entire planet to defend against a mere fifty thousand. Remember, the thing you're defending is all that is stopping your entire planet being reduced to slag from orbit.

Then again, the Star Wars universe has always been ridiculously stupid with numbers.

Also, in the Star Wars universe there's nothing between small arms and star ships, at least as far as most stories are concerned (the Empire had ATATs and ATSTs for a reason).
