maybe a shop that sells stuff for those exhorbitant prices, just +6 gear that isn't usually around, would give gold a whole other meaning, magine a shop where you at the best of situations would be able to buy one thingie every some years that you can actually scrape that much gold.

The 'economy problem' will slowly become less of a problem with this new mythal in place of epic loot. Solving the 'problem' of having any one PC getting millions of gold is somewhat impossible, and silly to me. Most of the economy fix ideas are very lame. [/color

We're still on the topic of gold sinking it seems.

I believe i've found the solution.

Making it harder for dedicated powergamers also makes it harder for the casual players who -don't- earn millions of gold.

So I think the best way to fix the economy -isn't- by making stuff harder to get. It'll only make epic loot rarer, and ones who are dedicated to it already will STILL dedicate themselves to it and make MORE gold since it'll be rarer.

Thus, here is my suggestion.

TAXES:
( paid every IC month, thus about every week OOC )

Depending on yout total gold amount it could look something like this

0 gold to 500 K = 1%
500K to 2 million = 2%
2 million to 10 million= 3%
10 million + = 4%

Now, it might not seem like much, but say for someone who has 10 million gold. That means a big 400 K in taxes every OOC week.

Someone who has say, 100 million will have to pay 4 million per week.

BUT, chars who have say 200 K will pay a modest 2K.

Your thoughts?

Wouldn't it balance the economy and narrow down the gap between the rich and the poor?

And as for jutifying it IC, invoke the power of Waukeen or something, IDK lol

Why would my adventurer pay taxes?
And to who?

To the Lords of Waukeen who balance the economy out. They, naturally are exempted of taxes.

I don't know, seriously...

But it's not because an idea is hard to justify ICly FOR THE MOMENT that the general idea can't be considered.

Perhaps there is a way of taking at least part of my idea and making it ICly possible?

I mean, just take a deep breath and think about it a moment. Wouldn't it solve at least part of the economy problem?

I see you didn't split my "this is a terrible idea" post.

Because this is a TERRIBLE IDEA.

I'm not sure why it needed a split in the first place. The idea in IA was suggested as possible gold sink. The matter of the economy is intrinsically tied to it at that point.
