At 100% speed increase is when you walk as fast as a nonhasted person. So, you need 30 levels of monk to do this. I checked this out before I made my monk.

I wanna know at which point does monks walk speed equal/exceed non-monk running speed? movement speed from source code (ie. pixels/second) info would be appreciated. |

Your maths are a bit shakey, there, Jyro. At 50% increase, the monk will walk at 1.5 times normal speed. Half of that is 0.75 normal speed. |

I'm not sure at all. I don't think it is half the speed. I was mainly being overly critical with Jyro's maths to think about it. I think it's less than 50% running speed, though. |

Also we have to ask if the increase is calculated from hidden source code base speed. which is the base, running or walking? Is base something else? is the increase calculated just only from the other, only adding the bonus to other if running would be 10(something, ie pixels/sec) and walking 5 would the speed increase add 1 to walking too?(if 110% speed) |

From experience, the increase in speed is a ratio applied to both walking and running, not a specific increment. |

If walking is 50% the speed of running, then Jafman is indeed correct, it would take 30 monk levels to obtain normal running speed while walking. For example: If running is 10, then walking is 10 x 50% = 5. To walk at 10: 5 +(100% x 5) = 10. It requires a 100% increase to recover a 50% decrease. Simple math. |

However, when you get that fast it just gets frustrating. Especially when RP'ing walking with someone. It's like... "I'm a monk with full control of my body, but I can't seem to walk your speed! Come on, you need to run a bit!" |

I remember a topic on allowing normal walk toggling before, but I believe the decision was to either carry around heavy objects or toggle stealth or detect modes. |

Those don't slow you down to 'normal walk' speeds. Enough weight, might. That poses issues with Rras for me tho. |

If you're a crossclassed monk, my suggestion is to simply craft up a suit of leather armor that looks good, for when you want to walk around normally. Your monk speed bonus is negated when wearing anything with a base AC of 1 or higher. |
