Hey I have had a couple of people ask me how to use the custom text macro on the quickslot. From what it looks like to me it defaults in the shout channel.

How to make the Custom Text Macro show up as if you typed it in the talk channel:
When you try to enter custom text macro (12 o'clock position on your radial menu) you'll be prompted with two fields. The first one "Label" you put what text you want to appear on the quickslot. (the field will hold more than 12 characters but that's the most characters that will actually show in the quickslot) The second field "Input Command" you have to type /talk before you put what you want the toon to actaully say or emote. Simular to how you use /p for speaking in party chat while still on the talk channel. So if I wanted to have my toon say or emote in this case *bows slightly with fist in hand* I would type in the "Input Command" field;

/talk *bows slightly with fist in hand*

if you want your toon to say something instead, just take off the asterisks(*) or replace the asterisks with quotes, if you like what your toon says to be in quotes. That should get you set up ;)

You can also use "/tk" instead of "/talk" and save 2 characters on the scrunched macro bar if it's a particularly long macro.

Yeah, without that, it automatically tries to send them to the Shout channel. We disable it for obvious reasons.

Thank you I always wondered how to do that. Sticky perhaps?

/tk...so that's the abbreviation for /talk lol I always wondered that. Thanks for the tip Tormak :D

I can't sticky it now, I didn't even check to see if I could when I posted lol. I did go into edit to see if the sticky option was available but it's not. Maybe Tormak or one of the other DM's can do it if they feel like it.

No problem glad to lend a little help to the best damn server in NWN!! Woot'ah! :wink:

/s = shout
/tk = talk
/w = whisper
/p = party
/tp "Account Name" = a tell to that player
/t "Character Name" = a tell to that player as well, mind it's context specific, /tp is for a login name, /t is for a character name.

IIRC, there is a 100 character limit on what you can type for the text itself. There may be a way around it if there is indeed a limit.
