2 secodns later after i get in..BAM "time out"..kicked

I try again...after 14 more minutes of trying...i get in again...

this only happens when the server is full...anyone know if this is a bug or anything..cause i know its not my net...

You connect the same time someone else did and they got in before you, so you get kicked.
And yep, that can be due to slower net, or just slower DC spamming. Its a player-side issue.

I thought I saw some kind of talk about some kind of upgrade... could the slots possibly be increased to 70-75?

although there wouldn't be this problem if people actually went to B.... I have to explore new UD by myself so often.

The server had a max of 75 people back in the day, but I believe it was reduced to 65 due to lag issues.

An increase to 75 wouldn't make too much of a difference, though.

65 keeps the server stable and playable all the way till reset.

75 got unplayable about 30-45 minutes before each reset due to horrible lag.

I'm quite happy for people to be forced onto B as spill over, maybe they'll discover new things. Send a message via forums to your buddies asking them to play with you on Abroad, if you need some company.

We do have another server so instead of trying to change the world you'd better try and change yourself.

and the reason is:

You Direct Connect spam.

One of your connects hit, but you did not wait the "server does not respond" or "server has no space" feedback (can't remember the actual text). You continue the spamming and one of the next connects hits as well and takes you into the server immediately.

Result: you are logged on twice, but your first logon (which you clicked away) isn't giving any feedback, so the server boots it. Since your second connect is on the same handle, tada you get the boot.

On the good side, you have a second server to play on + its your own fault for not Direct Connect spamming correctly (always wait for the "cannot log you in because of reason X" message).

Sometimes your NwN will double because of this as well, btw. And you will log in, but have the Gamespy menu overlapping your playing screen. The red/black cloud animation that normally surrounds it in gamespy will be replaced by the server but since you cannot click anywhere in the middle of the screen it's quite useless to play and you need a full NwN reset.
