I was browsing through the SD shops and noticed that the OOC warnings about being SD level X arent there anymore, even though the SD 10 gear ive purchased still has these warnings. Not really agreeing or disagreeing with this if it is a change, just wondering if it was intentional or a bug. Thanks! |

I think they've been properly removed now for some weird reason, and my gear still has the OOC restrictions as well. Though it doesn't matter much, as long as the gear isn't OOC restricted in teh shops, then it's all good. *Hands out overpowered gear to n00b Shadow Dancers* |

The gear on your character (or in it's inventory) cannot be auto-replaced with gear that no longer has the ooc warning, because you might have changed it with mythals or whatever. Plus it would require a script on teh entry mirrors to detect and replace it. So when gear in a shop is changed, you pretty much have to buy the new version yourself, if you really want the new one. Rarely, DM's *might* agree to take your old one and replace with a new version from the shop, at no cost. Generally needs to be a good reason though. |

Well, I guess for the old SD items that still have the OOC warnings, those wouldnt be enforced by DMs anymore, correct? Because... thta wouldnt make sense. |

So long as all the other stats are the same, I wouldn't. But if other modifications to the basic item were made besides just the OOC restriction being taken off, then I would. |

SD gear is anything but overpowered. |

Hmm okay, so basically what your saying is... Old SD gear - still restricted by OOC level requirements IF MYTHALLED. New SD gear - Not restricted at all. Take any number of SD levels and mythal away. |

I think he's more saying that if the old version was more powerful than the new (as in, not just the ooc rule, but also some stats, were removed), then the ooc rule would still apply. If the version in the shop didn't have anything removed along with the ooc rule, then you are fine. |

Well for one thing, that build wasn't pure sorc, it had 3 BG levels which are about to be shafted, making the build garbage. I'm just stating the honest opinion of people who have that kind of build. Compared to the mantle of stealth which is available to public, the SD gear in the shop is pretty average with max +5 hide/MS. Perhaps you have very low standards for what's considered overpowered. Well that, or you're basing them off the SD gear from prehistoric Amia. |

27 levels of sorc is still pretty damn uber. Just because you have to get more creative about raising saves rather than exploiting BG levels doesn't mean the whole build is garbage. Sheesh. |

Well that, or you're basing them off the SD gear from prehistoric Amia. With the exception of a belt that gave -4 saves but made you immune to every Bigby spell, that IS the 'prehistoric SD gear.' The only time it was better was back in Arelith years before Amia existed, and it was nerfed and removed again, long before Amia existed. The best part of the SD gear isn't the hide/MS, it's the ability to max your dex and have an incredibly large boost to your saves and your constitution all while maxing or nearmaxing your hide and MS. |

You, sir, do not have the feat "Spirit of Powerbuilding". I've seen the SD gear and sure it's a good complement for any SD. But overpowered? Not by my standards. But yeah, the prehistoric gear you mentioned, now that's favouritism. |

Favoritism? That belt has the distinction of being one of only like 3 items to be removed by script on log in. NO ONE has that belt. Nor will they have the Arelith rogue gear. |

Makes me want to see the old gera *sniffle sniffle* Oh well, at least the newbie dancers don't have access to the high level shopts (for which you need level 7 and 10 SD respectively) =D .. Right? |

Haha I meant back in the day where SDs were favoured. Not talking about now. Btw overpowered? I have one word for you: Drow |

D= You know I was only be all kiddings when I said "overpowered". Please no fight, it weakens the forum spirit. 3= The SD shops are pretty nifty, even if some bits 'n' bobs are a bit useless. (Seriously, heavy plate with +2 DEX and only allowed one Dexterity modifier? I don't think you can even stealth mode in that stuff. *Kicks the Hide and Move Silently skills off it, then proceeds on nit-picking.... and waits for someone to start complaining about this and spring up another SD argument, or something to do with pretty people.) *Pets Dramatic Prince... then flinches before awkwardly patting Tormak afterwards.* And Drow are nice! *Nodnod, hiding the baby in his soup pot.* |

You mean "one ring and one armor, both of which are being looked at for possible nerfing"? I'm not dumb. |

Nah, we're not even fighting. This is civil discussion. You know something is overpowered when a million OOC voices cry out for blood at the mention of nerf. Shadowflame gear got nerfed very quickly. How about the Drow? Is it because they have louder voices? |

I don't like the veiled accusations you're tossing at me. They're unfounded and untrue. The idea that we favor Drow is pretty much a joke. Th idea that we favor anyone, is. Timescale matters little: It is being done now. This is what matters. |

You've no idea how much my assassin/rogue grittered his teeth at the sd gear. Compared to what is available to non sd sneakers the sd store is incredibly useful, not to mention you get a bundle of the most useful scrolls there. |

SD items are good. You can get platemail and a helberd at that store that is espically made for SD's...I have a WTF look on my face right now by the way. |

You're reading the lines wrong. We all know you're not exactly fond of the drow base. What I'm saying is, has the matter been deliberately skirted to avoid ooc screaming over msn from the notorious drow base? |

Why would any of the staff be afraid of anyone's tempertantrums on the internet over a change? ..least of all Tormak. I'm pretty sure he has Fireproof britches 50/-, and a 'Block Contact that's being an arsehat' button on MSN. |

No, the answer is far less prosaic: there's little overlap between balance minded staff and Drow characters. What you don't know you don't nerf. |

For the record, I don't care for nerfs. We all have different opinion on what's overpowered and not. |

Well, I know i, but outside the top armor, one sorc ring and maybe Sunduiri: Balladier, not much is 'broken', and even Sunduiri isn't because it's cloth for bards and a dex bard isn't using it effectively. |

Does anyone know if the SD 10 items have been changed at all since the OOC restrictions were removed? Eg. were they made weaker to accomodate the fact that theyre now easier for people to use. |

I can't recall who exactly made those changes but I am 95 % sure we only removed the ooc tags on a large array of items, we didn't change the stats. |

No, no changes were made. They were removed because they made no IC or balance sense. |

Awesome. Thanks guys. I just dont wanna buy a new set of gear, modify its appearance again etc. if you've all relaxed about the OOC restrictions. I was planning on rebuilding to something with SD 6 soon anyway, so if im allowed to keep all my old stuff that has the redundent OOC warnings then that's cool. |
