Do I need to be able to scribe scrolls to do this job? It says I need paper when i use the job log.

Paper is another resource made by another job, you can choose to buy paper from other people or attempt spreading your jobs out to be able to make paper. (as in taking a paper making job)

There is more than one way to make paper.

Each way required two jobs from what I've seen.

For example: (at max lvl)

You could master in Linguist
Intermediate in the paper making job
Novice in the raw resource gathering needed to make paper.

thanks! I did find someone in game but I wasn't sure it was going to be able to write on paper so I didn't buy it at the time because it's pricey.. but I will.. thanks again!

There is a little line of connection and production between at least four players regarding the making and construction of paper from plant to end product. Not sure if it's the only one, but it does exist.
