However, is this likely to put you close to your limit? I guess it's still case by case, but I imagine +5 enhance would still be considered quite the hefty request?

This is sort of the reasoning. You can pay a good bit more for permanent +5, or you can rely on a mage/cleric doing it for you and get stuff much cheaper. We want to give mundane classes a chance at equally impressive weapons as self-buffing casters. But yeah, it's still going to be more pricy, and I'm uncertain just how consistent we want to be with just slapping +5 on for extra coin. +5 enhancement, as in a +5 weapon, or 5 AC. Generally speaking you are seeing an increase in DC item power, all around.
