Just curious how it works.
Lands that are anti-magic so you cannot cast in them or people using anti magic fields. How is it done and what kinda power we talking here?

Cheers

Antimagic is powerful spell stuff, very powerful and very difficult to maintain in a large area. Large areas of antimagic are often just referred to as "dead magic zones" and aren't normally purposefully created; they're often the result of cataclysmic accidents.

Antimagic also has this really bad tendency to be just as bad for the creators as it does for the intended victims.

"Remember, inside an antimagic field, you are just an Elf. But I? I am still a dragon."

So the chances of someone being able to simply set one up at will would be quite unheard of?

Due to the mechanical workings of anti-magic, I consider them firmly in the realm of "requires DM oversight for any and all usage."

That said, there are spells which cover it, such as Antimagic Field, and a few rarer monsters have such traits such as a Beholder or a Colussus.

That said, their implementation is typically "DM Event / Full Player Agreement Only"
