I have played Baden Ironblood for nearly a year now. I have met other dwarves outside of the dwarven halls, but none inside. I, like many other dwarves, do not see Brog as relevant or even interesting. There is no common enemy to fight against or ideal to fight for. And there is no foreseeable threat.
Based on old paper and pencil DnD lore, it was said there were two male dwarves for each female. One male would mind the homefront, the other go off and further his career. I fall into the later category. Career, aka levelling, has been my primary focus. I believe that is also the focus of others of my race. But many of us have reached epic levels now and career is secondary to plot. Problem is there is NO plot for dwarves in Amia.
I had thought that when I was looking for my Dwarven Axe of Sure Strike, when I found it I would like to become Thane and bring the dwarves together. But I have to admit I don't have the first clue in terms of Amia game resources or semantics on how to do that. I have collected dwarven artifacts such as rings and such in an effort to placate possible dwarven rivals and allies. But the main difficultly is having a reason for such a ruler. The problem is there is no reason. There are no matters such as the Black Caravan threatening the Kelemorites that threaten the existence of the dwarves of Amia.
I am more than up for pulling together or being part of a dwarven clan or cabal, but I cannot do it alone. If there are other dwarves who would like to join me, email me at bob.shannonlutz@gmail.com and lets see if we can work something out. Otherwise, look for Baden Ironblood "hunting" and providing some of the best dwarven RPing you have heard on BOTH A and B. Oi!

To be fair Badan you've talked to Hedda/me for a while now IC and OOC and you never send me tells about dwarven rp, just about hunting.
Not trying to slight you or anything, I just took you as a loot farmer and it seems I was wrong and I apologize for thinking that way.
People make the mistake of leveling to 30 before roleplaying quit a bit. (Not that I'm saying anything bad about people who choose to RP like this, I just see a lot of missed chances when it happens) If you have such lofty goals it'll take more than rings and surestrike axes to get there. I wish you well in your RP but I really really wish people would realize that you don't need to be level 30 with great gear to win friends and influence people.
Work it though, I love dwarves!
*Above was opinion only, Amia...I love you? Don't flame meh? *bats eyes*

Barak Runedar at the moment is a faction although it should be a home for all dwarves. Due to the locked forums, you adventuring dwarves miss a lot of fun. But frankly, there hasn't been a lot of Dwarven RP around these days, save for the few meetings we've had.
The forums will soon be open for any player of a dwarf and we hope this to resurrect Barak Runedar.

Well, a Dwarves natural enemy is orc's, trolls and giants. However, all these enemies are pretty much flies on the shoulder for the average epic leveled dwarf. So you can imagine that leaves out some good dwarven RP.
The only other alternative is Drow and most espically, Duergar. However, in my stint as a Duergar on Amia, I noticed only maybe 1 out of 30 dwarves would even release that I was a Duergar and not a Dwarf, and maybe 1 out of 40 would know that Dwarves are meant to HATE Duergar. The same way Elves are meant to hate Drow.
Unless Amia has changed dramatically within' the time between now and when I stopped playing, the actual number of Duergar on Amia is heavily out numbered by the amount of Dwarves. Which is a shame since both races have a rich and intertwined history that could make for some damned nice conflict RP.
This means you have to make your own "natural enemy". Do a Dwarven Qirlan and start up a bearded revolution against the pointy eared tree lovers, or the height biased humans. Perhaps even stir up a civil war about the lack of activity against the remaining Duergar threat that lies beneath the surface.
Improvise?

Baden, I don't think I've asked you this yet but what's your character's profession?
Besides farming of course

I think a lot of people have seen me tooling around with Kegs, a very standard, warhammer using, greenie hating, elf disparaging, drinking, cursing, and general carrying on, dwarf.
He is in the ACTF, but i would love to get involved in Barak Runedar as well, if there isnt an obvious OOC conflict of interest. IC conflicts of interest can be handled IC obviously, and could lead to some fun RP, so I am not worried about that.
So... can I be added to the forums? Thanks.

Gmbl mbl... I say we round up the duergars and the rest of the greenskins and belt the dwarves a good one to remember.

You know, I don't know Baden, and I don't know you personally, but that comment seems pretty snide coming from someone who's pc actively buys up said epic farming loot at a wholesale scale.....

I think it was pretty clear it was jokingly said.

I don't know you, but I know Baden. We have a good working relationship.
It seems pretty off for someone I don't even know to snipe me from the sidelines for what was obviously a joke.

If you want a nice and easy RP firestarted I'd say you get together a group to clear out the low level Orc Caves. When the enemies aren't a challenge it gives you a great chance to RP and talk it out. Could be interesting.

dwarves seem to be the only race that stays true to a stereotype. its very nice.
I wish other races didn't have to be so unique. everyone is unique, just like you.

Been away, and just read your comment. Didn't realise it was a joke. - Things that might seem obvious to you, can be read completely differently by a stranger. To me it seemed like a snide attack. And given that the posts above it were critical of the OP then that's how I read it. My apologies.
Now someone's going to tell me that all the critical posts of the OP were obvious jokes

You're a cranky father, who can't sleep well thanks to a cranky offspring. Your lack of perception is understandable and we still love you very much. <3
