Hi guys, i recently joined the server (and it's pretty damn good). I've just got one question so far... Studded/Leather armour... do any decent variations exist, or am i just being blind/stupid? I've found quite alot of heavy, medium and robes for sale/looted that were pretty good, but a distinct lack of your traditional light armour. I'm currently wearing studded leather that i've mythalled up to +1 with PFA 3x per day... but at almost level 10 i'm starting to worry that the only way i'll get decent light armour is to mythal it.
I even accessed the grove shop with "ranger" items... even there there's no real light armour.
Any information would be really appreciated, as i might have to rethink my build if there's no Light armours (especially Leather end-game) that are on a par with the heavy/robes that are available.
Edit: I actually had two questions, just remembered the other one... Bows... what's the limit for +mighty here? I -really- want a non-arcane archer type, which means i need fairly high str for the extra damage. Highest i've seen so far is +5... which isn't really all that good.

Sure there are! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "decent," but there's better than +1 available.

I'm not really sure what i mean, as i'm not 100% sure on what level of magic etc the server has gear-wise. But i've seen stuff like full plate+2 with 10 sonic resist, etc etc, but the best studded i've found is +1, and the best leather i've seen is +1 with 5/ Negative resist.

Just look around and explore, it's the best way to find out. There are plenty of really nice light armours out there, you just need to know where to shop.

There's stuff that's straight +2 and +3 you can get from shops, and straight +4 stuff drops. +2 with elemental resist sounds like the kind of autogenerated gear that might appear in stores from time to time.
I'm not really sure what special stuff there is specifically for leather, since I haven't paid special attention to it, but for high end stuff there are some well-known shops that someone might mention if you were asking around IC for powerful adventuring gear.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure i wasn't making a rod for my own back later on in the game or something. I asked around and was directed to the ranger shop... frankly i was stunned that there is not ONE set of leather/studded sold there... plate, chain, robes, no light.

Not to worry, you'll find it. Amia is a big place and some merchants are tucked away in unexpected places so keep looking. Finding them is part of the fun.

Or just make a character that wears full plate! You'll see noting but cloth and leather armor drops, then. Heh.

To a pretty large extent, stuff gets made because lots of people made a hullabaloo when it wasn't there. Since the light armours are such a minority niche not a lot of hullabaloo has been made.
Most of the light armour you'll find is for Bards, but UMD monkey AC mages wear it too; they're about the only folk that have 14 DEX and wouldn't just rather be in fullplate.
Basically everyone else has got between 8 and 13 DEX because they're a heavy slugger, or has 26+ DEX and is a dancy ninja who'd never wear anything but cloth.
Rangers are either fullplaters or DEX-monkeys, in the main.
While I won't suggest for an instant that cloth and fullplate aren't the most kitted out types, there's some gems dotted about in every tier.

It's a common problem it seems. Does that mean i need to shout and make a 'hullaballoo' in order to sort this out? Good idea... but before i go trying to beat the location out of every shadowdancing monkeyboy out there, i need to check:
Is it like the ranger/druid merchant in the Grove? eg: Can't access the good stuff without being a faction members. (there's no way in hell im taking SD levels)

There are shops like that, and there are normal open-access shops as well.

It's not really a thing shouting can fix, nor is it really a problem. Well, it is, in the way that the high priority of powerful builds on an RP server is a problem, but past that, it's pretty understandable. You don't get -that- many stat points, so there's no real reason to have your Dex bouncing around at 16 or 18. Also, studded leather and leather each offer only 8 AC from base AC + Dex, while fullplate offers +9, and cloth offers an infinite amount.
Anyway, back on topic, there are a good number of decent leathers and studded leathers. Most of them are rogue, bard, shadowdancer, or assassin items, but just having UMD fixes that right up. There's also some higher level shops that offer shiny leather and studded leath armor!
