Look in your root NWN folder, usually
C:\Program Files\NWN\Neverwinternights
Look for a folder in here called Portraits. If there is not one, create it.
Then place each of the portraits you downloaded into this folder.
This is not to be confused with the \overrides folder.
Start up NWN, and you should be good to go!

that is correct frey, maryn, but if I am not mistaken, I think dri stated it would be better to place the portraits in your override folder, so that you do not use the portrait of others, thus they remain unique to that charachter.

Couldn't be beat by a better person, Maryn.

Yep, quoted for emphasis.
When you move them to the override folder, they are not selectable at character creation, which is what we are aiming for so that other people's portraits can remain unique to their characters.

Death to uniqueness

We both are charming. Did you see how hot Kjetta is? And me too? >.> <.<
Anyway, yes, this topic can be locked now, I think. Unless if the OP has any more questions concerning the portrait pack?

So if I download the Newcastle portrait pack, I should put it in override not portrait folder? I don't want to step on anyones toe's. Or is this only referring to specially created portraits?
When you move them to the override folder, they are not selectable at character creation, which is what we are aiming for so that other people's portraits can remain unique to their characters.
It's best to put it in the Override folder, because if you use a specially-created portrait whom someone else created for their character, you run the risk of getting your portrait abruptly changed if that person decides to update that portrait.
And to Virginia: I think this is just for the Amia Portrait pack, which is comprised primarily of specially-created portraits for specific characters.

I am missing a boat load of portraits from people, can someone link the last one so I can have them?
And it is alright to open them in the override. I will add Delarwyn too when I have enough DCs to actually update her stuff. As my first character, everything on her description, portrait and such are quite lame.

Fixed for errors.

Technically true, but that sounds like a painful delivery.

We could always make everyone happy and delete all the stolen portraits, harassing them with the same intensity that we flog those who try to make characters that clearly infringe on Copyrights. Like Richards and Drizzts.

Yeah, but I think that would be a large number of people, and then you just need to ad in your bio where it all came from.

I liek Jean Ortega as a character because it shows that everyone can be different. I also don't think we should incorporate mean behavior in video games.

@administration any chance of putting the files in the files section of the website?

ummmm what is the problem of copying?
I have no clue about computer design, I wouldn't even know where to start. And yes, I do want to learn, but it is a project for someday not for now. :P
So, most of my portraits are stolen and I slightly modified if I even get to do that :P
I use other people's portraits too, but I admit that it is theirs and in no way my own.
I think the thing was taking someone else's portrait, modifying it and calling it your own is stealing.
