Do we still have these? It seems like we dont. If I tried to organize one, would people be interested? Or did it end because people got a little too OOC butthurt about it?
If people are interested, I was thinking of shooting for Friday evenings EST, with some 1v1 fights and maybe a couple team battles. Also I was thinking of roping someone into being an official bookie, offering odds and taking all bets at those odds.
Any interest? It doesnt have to be huge either. If we just get people who want to have some fun, and not get all bent out of shape about he results, I think we could have some fun.

I would come. And if that was the problem, could always nicely ask people who aren't OOC'ly prepared to lose... not to take part, not to sound nasty or anything, but if you're going to get involved in something like this, you have to be prepared to be beaten. Winning isn't a guarantee.

I think tourney's are tough to pull off, there is a lot more planning and potential for pitfalls. I am not against it, but I think that would be too big an undertaking at first.
Im not planning on this being some permanent event, I know that people will get bored after awhile, once they all know who will win every matchup. But maybe we can get a good little run in, before taking a break for awhile.

Don't have it in the Cordor Arena, though. It's a great stage for duels, but way too cramped for the big messy brawls.
The Meeting Place off the Crouching Lemur Monastery is also an Arena zone, and is a much more open space. However it's a bit odd that the monks'd let some bunch of armoured brutes slug it out to a jeering crowd, and that place gets really dark at night. Although I'd bet a circle of torchbearing spectators would fix that.
Plan C is host it in any other space that's got the right size and IC atmosphere. Even if it's a monsters zone, just ask a friendly DM to switch off the spawns in that area. The Mylock Hills are actually pretty good; you've got the raised areas encircling wide open spaces, which gives it a Colosseum feel.

Caraigh Road on B, too.
Yes, don't make it into an OOC Arena thing, keep it IC.

We need a new arena. A nice a big one. Maybe in the UD. Got a gamed called ADOM that has an UD arena, always loved teleporting all the monsters into the crowd.

Screw fight club. The best fights are those without rules. Besides we aren't some insecure people with low self image that need to beat up our boss in order to feel better about ourselves and our low pay jobs or cheating credit card abusing wife.
We're high on ego adventurers that only want to win and want as many people as possible to see it.
ok, it sounds like there is some interest. hopefully we can get a DM to agree to show up and help out. i am still searching for a place. The Arena hasnt been ruled out, although I would prefer somewhere else.
