i find it even more silly to have for example 5 double-axes on inventory without magic bags=) ive allways supposed that magic bag is a small bag that shrunks the items put in it same time decreasing their weight. the more expensive and enchanted the smaller and more it decreases the weight... thats only how ive rped em. and nopes there is no restrictions about how many you can carry around

I mostly RP bags of holding as smaller pouches that can house a lot of stuff...
Quote:
A bag of holding, in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game, is a popular magical item capable of containing objects larger than its own size. Since its introduction, it has been used in many other roleplaying games.
So that explains how you can pull out a giant doubleaxe out of a smaller pouch.
I actually use most of them for organizing inventory. Using clothes in one place.. potions n another. loot in three or four sometimes.. and so on.
A real bag of holding would not be limited in how much items it can hold either, so you wouldn't need so many. Can assume all the bags are just one.
Not really.

This. It's what I do. It's easier. >.>
Edit: Fine, Carter, it's a little different. But still. It's easier. *cough*

Even with 50+ bags of holding in my inventory, I just pretend I have one hidden, unstealable bag with the space of a large carport or garage in it. Works for me.
Type I Weight: 15 lb. Can hold: 250 lb. Can hold: 30 cu. ft. Cost: 2,500 gp Type II Weight: 25 lb. Can hold: 500 lb. Can hold: 70 cu. ft. Cost: 5,000 gp Type III Weight: 35 lb. Can hold: 1,000 lb. Can hold: 150 cu. ft. Cost: 7,400 gp Type IV Weight: 60 lb. Can hold: 1,500 lb. Can hold: 250 cu. ft. Cost: 10,000 gp
Those bag of holdings cost roughly 50k, or was it 200k, though.

Scale up for Amia. Amia money is like rupees to mainland Faerun's Euro.

That's always made me wonder - what are the 'gold coins' made of in Amia? In Faerun, the value of the coin is equal to the value of the gold it contains - in order for the Amian coin to be less valuable, it would have to contain less gold as far as I can see.

Some Ohgmarite probably painted lead coins gold thinking he was smart and could make an easy buck. He probably wasn't aware that when these coins got into circulation, people started flicking these lead coins into fountains for luck. This in turn was poisoning the populace and that he now was responcible for thousands of deaths and mental problems.
But the nutcase clerics decided to raise them all over and over again, blaming Lomir and Krin instead of trying to figure out the causes of the deaths.

Sounds more like a plan of this goddess of diseases.

What she means is that these people should take a look at their inventory and clean out stuff they don't need. Sizes like this can crash the server when a DM looks at your inventory, as LetumLux can tell you. Rebuilds also get tricky because a DM avatar tends to crash if he saves this amount of gear.

1000+ Kb is especially dangerous, btw.
Woot! I'm not there. :P

Yeah, those people should indeed look at their inventories and sell stuff. That's the sort of server crashing character file size at worst. At best they simply lag the server.
Every item has their own set of infromation stored in your bicfile.
This information includes:
Flags such as plotflags,stolen, etc
Itemproperties and its DATA
Storedlocal data SetLocalInt/String/Float()
Name and description.
EVERY ITEM.
That adds up to alot of data. I'm curious on how many GB's the archive + server vault is.
Big descriptions are also a problem, if you got HUMONGOUS descriptions on your items it can lag the server as the sever have to unpack the data from you then send it to you and you have to show it on your screen. This takes a few milliseconds.
PS Milliseconds is a VERY long time in the digital world.

He's a frakkin WIZARD !!! That means he automatically took the following feats at character creation:
PackBat (lvl1) : Your character desires to keep everything, and we mean everything. Nothing is exempt from this characters eye, he's worse than a kender.
LameDonkey: Your character has the space to carry everything, but not the strength. Roll on the BackInjury Chart 3 X daily for bonus injuries.

Don't worry, some of the large-size items will be going away once I teach a few IC classes. Anyway, it's only appropriately ironic that Zenith be the fattest character on the server.

Take a look at the type IV. It holds 1,500 pounds and has dimensions in three digit cubic feet. Now I don't know about you lot, but rarely do any of my characters have 1,500 pounds of stuff weighing them down. That's like having an extra 30 strength if you're a low strength character and if you're a high strength one you wouldn't care anyway.
To then say that in 250 cubic feet you could only store about 6 battleaxes is frankly absurd. By weight alone you could store over 200 battle axes and they're described as having 3-4 foot shafts, so even if you disregarded the y axis entirely you could still fit about 70 battleaxes in. To recap, that's more than ten times what a NWN bag of holding allows and if the y axis were to be taken into account, barring weight, you could store over 15,000 battleaxes.

i dont really find it problematic ic wise the number of bags..
BUT
bags cause lag, more of them more lag..i suggest a limit of 9 max

If my memory serves, I've got about a dozen or so bags. Half contain stuff I can't live without, keys, potions, etc. The other half are kept empty and used for loot when I'm out hunting. I know six is kinda overkill, but it allows me to mule all the loot for the hunt and then we can just divide it up when we're done. *shrug*
I usually RP the character having several small pouches/pockets in which stuff is kept and then one bag of holding which keeps all the big stuff. BTW, it's kinda fun to go waist-deep into your bag of holding trying to find something which just so happens to be buried under a bunch of other stuff.

Illithira is also a hoarder...oh, I've been cutting down and down her gear by the way, to the point of giving stuff away...I reckon at one stage, she was higher than Zenith!
Anyway, guess its time to open yet another shop in Wiltun or Cordor and sell stuff...

Here's a point to make - doesn't full plate cost 1 000-odd Amian Gold (for the point of this we'll call it 1 500)? And on the Mainland it's worth 1 500 Mainland Gold.
Couldn't we buy the armour with Amian Gold and resell it on the Mainland for Mainland Gold, increasing our money thousand-fold?
And if Amian and Mainland Gold are different, why are parts of Mulhorand using Amian Gold (this same reasoning was used for saying magic acts everywhere like it does on Amia)?
