You can become a tiefling as an elf, though you cannot become an arcane archer after that.

Did you spell the subrace correctly?

That's odd... I remember clearly creating an elf tiefling, but that was admittedly a while back. Are you sure you spelled it correctly?

Yeah, that would be a spelling issue. I made that mistake a while back whilst test-making a couple of characters.

That would be my guess on the problem. It needs to be spelled "tiefling", precisely, as that's the only recognized word. It's case-sensitive, yes?

It's because elves already get +2 Dex as a standard bonus.

That said, I use this as further evidence that the Subrace page needs to use different wording!

yep. its not +2 to your already +2 elf bonus. it reduces your stats to human before making the change. so, the way I look at it:
elf bonus- +2 dex, -2 con
goes to
tiefling bonus- +0 dex(you already have it) +2 con(get rid of those damn elf stats) +2 int, -2 cha

EDIT: but you DO keep elf feats such as listen skill affinity, immunity to sleep, etc.

That is why half elves are far better suited for Tieflings ^^

I think that's fairly clear, to be honest.

Yep. It doesn't matter how clear it's stated if people don't a) read it and b) think about it. You can type it in elephant-sized golden letters, but people will still make mistakes because they don't always read everything before playing. "Oh, tieflings, cool. I'll just type it in my subrace field and play."

Besides, it's our duty as human beings to give each other some intellectual challenge.

I can make it pink and all blinky. Maybe add a sound effect, too?

Any chance you can make each letter flash blue and red, each consecutive letter different? We can't miss it then (if we don't burn out our retinas first)

Admittedly, I didn't actually look. I just assumed that, being Amia, it hadn't gotten done yet.
