D&D as a pnp game discourages power building generally as characters are going to be faced with a number of challenges and not all of them will be the pick up ax and roll d20 until they are all dead kinds.
I believe whats being said here is that NWN is a platform built mainly around pick up ax and roll d20 until they are all dead kinds of challenges as a solo game but that its not immediately the best system for a role play between disparate kinds of players and characters.
Personally I shudder when I hear someone proudly proclaiming they are a power builder (on an RP server) as I have simply had to much negative experience with players whose RP is dominated by their power building.
And no I am NOT saying that this is what you are or what you do but just saying that it gives me great concern thanks to negative past experiences.
Rarely do I meet a near indestructible dev critter with one thousand hit points and terror rage who is anything but an IC thug, and yet fantasy material is filled with strong archtypes who have their weaknesses, sometimes they are physical like kryptonite and superman, or sometimes its emotional or social. Sadly in my experience rarely do these d20 death machines have a shred of mortal weakness in anyway shape or form, or I just missed it due to the respawn screen after they truestriked me to death after some token rp

Granted that a certain amount of this stems from the D&D system as a base model to begin with, but is amplified by the changes that system underwent to fit into this particular video game. And the discontinuity is that it was designed first and foremost as a video game, with most video games designed around the mechanics of progressing through a story by overcoming challenges; challenges that while sometimes more decision or "RP" based, are more often than not designed around the hard mechanics of the game and the skill of the player to manipulate these mechanics. Where does that equate...? Oh my bad, care to amplify?

Those paragraphs that you have quoted do not say, "the mechanical aspects of the game should not be enjoyed," or, "everyone should roleplay with X+ number of players to be a valid member of the server," or even anything remotely of the sort. My statements were on how the mechanics of the game don't naturally lend themselves towards supporting a more thoroughly RP-based environment, to summarize succinctly.

Good thing I never said any of those things then, or I might be in trouble!

If you don't like the mechanical aspects of nwn/amia, then why play here? The role-play part can be done without the mechanics, so I assume there are other games that are designed more for role-play. I'm not trying to dissuade people from Amia or anything, I'm just saying that this game is a game and not just a chat room with 3D avatars.
Anyways, besides my concern with NPC walls, I think that maybe making some rare 'rp items' available in some way could make Amia more interesting. These items could maybe have some uses of a pnp spell or something, or just some magical effect that is unusual. I think it should be more in the hands of the players to create story than DMs, so any nudge in that direction would be nice.

Are you saying that Amia is just for power builders and Role players who do not power build should just get out?
No.
I play here for many reasons, the mechanics are neither here nor there for me if this was using any rules set I would careless.
I am not sure where you are going with the get out comment..but I retort by saying that this is not just a diablo hack and slash with an option of chat either.
