To give you an idea of my decision making process on direct signs, here is some insight to my approach on the matter: Say you guys get a Draegloth (in canon one of the best 'blessings' of 'validity in the eyes of Lolth' a settlement can receive), what would happen then? If a PC births it, cries of favoritism will undoubtably creep up. If an NPC births it, the wrong impression is sent and what should be (in my opinion) player freedoms to guide themselves toward glory or ruin start being handed over to NPCs. From there on out it would inevitably mean that all good and bad things will get attributed either directly or indirectly to my own actions as a DM, hence robbing you guys of the sense of accomplishment that comes with earned, player-driven rewards.

Dusty, Amia has a draegloth. She's in my vault right now languishing with a drider skin (that causes players to not read her bio and try and attack her... once pony's hak update is in... well I'll bring her back!!!)

So they'll come for an Archduke and Terzaroch, but they wouldn't come for Caraigh, they wouldn't come for Howness, they didn't intervene with The Rider and they haven't picked up on the Far Planes and worst of all is that they haven't picked up from their followers that there might be something going that threatens time & reality itself?

Despite how awesome the celestials were to roleplay with-- you do not want them coming to your house.

I know well that the Celestials would be merciless wrecking balls of righteousness and then some, but I was more talking about divine guidance, not divine all-out-kick-ass-war!

I don't know about Celestials beating down your door and eating your kids, but ... Divine guidance isn't always good either :D

Considering some of the problems faced by Amia in the past , it would have been a boon to know there was still some Celestial representation.

And yes the Quintessence/Far Planar plot does have an IC reason why the Celestials haven't shown up (which is admittedly disheartening to my poor Celestial aligned Gnome) , but unlike Manarethan I can only theorize but I have a good theory that just needs exploring.

. . . And sonofabiatch... something else just clicked into mind while thinking on this topic too but I'll need to resolve it later. >.<:

Just to clarify Estara. There was not any specific outcome I was expecting.

I didn't think there was...

However, when your left inside four walls to rp for 4 months because IC:ly your character is fucked up and simply can't move and the only one who can provide you answers/solution/conclusion leaves (Dm). Then there is nothing enjoyable at it. The only reaaon I finally got cured was that I Oocly decided if I need to suffer this shit theough, at least I could do it outside closer to possible rp, hence, ignoring one of the things hindering my toon so she could go out there.

This is more the part of your experience I was trying to focus on-- the frustration, the lack of available interaction, and possible responses to such. What you did was what I did, in a way. You took control of what may not have been the happiest/most ideal situation and built something out of it, still doing your best to keep it IC no matter how many OOC factors came into play. That is something to be proud of, something to be happy about and I think something to even see some freedom in. I'm trying to help you see the positive, powerful side of it instead of the bitter resentment.

The fact is, there is nothing wrong with having bad things coming my way, but when there is nothing to get out of the experience or the Dm simply leaves leaving me at my own devices when their plot have caused such damage to my character that most simply dont want to interact with her to find solution and I cant find it on my own because the Dm is not there... Then I see problems in this. No exit of the situation, no roleplaying with others, even permadeath would be a way out of it if someone granted it.

I'm glad you can still see that bad things can be a growth experience, if it happens differently. Hopefully there will be a time when it happens that no matter how it happens, it can still be pretty awesome. YOU are the ultimate story writer. No DM has to give you permission to perma-kill your characters. You can request to perma-kill yourself, too.

Just like how I requested my own character's Fall!
