They look to science-fiction like for my taste. I trust those who made haks in the past had similiar reasons why they do not like them.

Egyptland would be a tower shield, tall and narrowish, not big and round really. With either an Ankh, a Djed, or pyramid motif with one of those imposed over it. The Djed looks best as a pictograph, historically it has so many crazy colors. Ankh looks best as a image, not the pictograph.

Can you make shields that have changing color? Nothing fancy, maybe just large or tower shields that with one color on the outside, maybe 2. That user can "paint" ?

The first is good, the second one we already have, the third is boo-boo.

Im thinking Pyramid, with an Ankh or Djed in front of it and a sun cresting just above the apex of the pyrmadic.

Changing colors do not work on shields. The mulhorandi stuff I have not yet gotten to, but I already know what I will first attempt to do.

Now, here is the first draft of the Wiltun shield. The texture will be improved upon and I will tweak it quite a bit, but given it's small size it will be hard to add small details. What I would like to know from the Wiltun folks if this is fitting from the general style, if you want color changes (like the white to black), more or less blood, perhaps to look dirtier, and so forth.

I will, but Wiltun has one already hence we did not need to discuss another.

It might be more "Wiltun" if the white area was the oil green and the current green area was black. But with the current sigil, it might get lost on a dark background?

I'd be interested to see what Nivo thinks.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but I really, really hate the bloodstain. Because what, stormtroopers don't ever clean their gear? Captaint Deitricht is the sort of guy who would stand for his men looking like barbarians?

I cleaned up the texture a bit. This is what it would look like with and without a blood splatter. I can rotate the shield texture by 90° (save for the middle part), but it will not look as good. If I change the white to the green as the field for the raven you will no longer be able to see it, unless I change the raven from black to white, kinda making it a dove. It would also no longer fit the banner Wiltun uses if I did that. I would also not want to lighten up the green, as it is the exact type being used in game by the npc's and wardens.

Hey guys, I am getting so many pms I did not get around to awnser a few from the last days. If I did not get back to you after a couple of days, just poke me again.

Please also only use links and do not post pictures to help keep this topic as clean as possible. For those who posted images, it would be great if you could remove them.

Liz has valid concerns about the Wiltun shield. New # 1 looks awesome for 'em, since it can't be black and green.

Now it's time for the kohlinger folks to weigh in. Here are two different versions of the shield, and I can also alter them further if you got some ideas.

Version A is the clear standout, I think. Does the dragon seem a bit off center, to you? Like, maybe nudge it to the right a bit?

Yeah, I need to reduce the size a tad so I can move it further to the right.

What's the splotch on the right hand side? Its alright, not exactly what I had in mind myself. The ankh should be more golden. And the shield background be a more blue or a more light green.... those have been more colors traditionally used by the mulhorandi players. Gold and blue.

It is where the paint chipped off and the wood underneath shows. The blue and gold one is up next, but for that I will need to also re-texture the rim into a metal color.

With how prim, proper and beaurocratic the mulhorandi are. I would assume that unlike the savages with blood splatters the righteous and honorable mulhorandi would never allow their shields in such a state of disrepair. Especially one holding a holy symbol. It would be an affront to the Gods!

The run of the mill soldier who would have the torn up shield would have the animal skin shields, everyone wants animal skin shields! Where are they <3

The one I made is supposed to look like it is in disrepair. It is the shield I think would work great for the mummies or mulhorandi palemasters / necromancers. With the fancy one I did not start yet and it will be more work, but now I am begining to think that it will be hot pink with a grey moustache on it.

No mulhorandi use mustaches. RTFW..

In line with plot and faction things... How about a symmetrical upright green feather on a dark gold background... Or the feather with my pyramid and Sun
