I figured out how to add the haks, and I'm reasonably sure I got them all, but I still can't see any funnelweb spider.

Does this mean a throrough rework of the animal companions? Like, really big changes for badgers, hawks and the wolf?

All companions should now be just as strong (that is if they are used in their specific field: a disabler against undead is not going to work as good as the cannon, etc)

Ur, 180 seconds is 30 rounds and it's a bit too short, since you can avoid the EDK way too easily. Spending two pre-epic feats and one epic is a lousy trade for an EDK that lasts turns/level. I wouldn't mind making EDK last double the time it does now. And yush, the changes for the companions are superbig and awesome, in my opinion. Makes them all rather equal. A bear might be better in one build, whereas the hawk is better in another. Nicely balanced and I hope you lot will use all of them.

The yawning chasm between the best and worst of them should be lessened a great deal. As indicated, they aren't in any way identical and will each have their own flavor and set of attributes but within the bounds of their purpose should be quite handy. I fully expect to see a wider diversity of selections in use once this goes in. Don't disappoint me you lot! Mosh put an extraordinary effort into the creative process and the actual rebuild of these and if I don't see a bunch of different companions roaming around out there enhancing everyone's RP............well just trust me, you don't wanna go there.

Just a random thought falling into place. Is this a test run for the Shifter changes too? And is that closer to fruition with these new changes?

but the shifter changes are very close too; yes. Last test I did, I did not see any bugs anymore... (cross fingers i did not miss any) but there's some minor issues left to take care of balance wise.

Theories and guessingsGithzerai Savant I think... The third one from the left. Looks like a meleer... but im guessing some type of caster. Hopefully not a caster, because i know by experience that caster NPC's ...er...well, they're good until their spells run out. ------------------------------------------- This baby must be the Good Outsider, Arcadian avengers got two swords and are angel like with wings. -------------------------------------------- Marut Inevitable wrote: These represent the ineluctability of death. They hunt for those who either extend their lifespan unnaturally (such as liches and maybe elans) or those who commit extreme acts to keep themselves from death (such as sacrificing hundreds of others to save themselves from a plague). Maruts resemble muscular humanoids made of polished black metal, and typically use their fists in battle. Im guessing this is ...the big fatty one. Yeah, it's the only "muscular" unarmed thing i found. But im kinda unsure about the claws on the feet.

Githzerai is the gray-skinned elf with rags on its arms, yeah. Savant is a psionic specialization/type, I think. Githzerai are monks and psionics, typically, so I guess that's something to expect.

So for those of us that liked the old spider companion (the black and green one), is there any way to get that back? Or are we now required to either change RP or pay DCs for a reskin of our once-black-and-green spider?

Way to break it chris!
Greater Planar Binding summons nothing, and Gate still gets a White Slaadi.. and it felt like a VERY long 360 seconds..
This is for Neutral, mind. Wizard.
I take it back, Greater Planar Binding works, summons a Green as expected. I MIGHT have clicked on my pixie when i tried to cast it the first time.. or somehow stoped it from casting *shrug*

The Corruptor of Fate is the one with the yellow clawed feet, I imagine. The blue hooded thing is what is the Inevitable, I'd imagine. It looks construct-ish, but doesn't resemble a Marut Inevitable. A Kolyarut one, maybe though, but those supposedly use swords. Could still be one though.

It's exceedingly difficult to test the summons themselves when not in the actual situations they'll be used in, such as parties, different builds, etc.

Alright, so the epic BG summon was modified ? Mine LE used to cast blind DC 53. And now, it's not often and it's DC 33. Also, I cannot increase his Dex because It seems it was blocked. If my opinion can count, I would like to say that these modifications related to the epic BG summon (mostly NE, because I don't know about the others) were not necessary. Just that mass blind would work. Also, If possible, could I see via PM what the others alignment could get related to summons ? Mostly what they can do/cast.

Ridiculous! In PvP it would take like... 4-5s, as a mate told me before. Mostly It helps in PvM. Also, in my opinion, that's the most important thing on BGs build, since he fails in comparison to others builds. But It's just a point of view. I wouldn't consider a super smith evil/good 250 damage or higher so funny either.

That NE summon needed to be nerfed, it had 80 fucking charisma and more feats than a human pure level 30 fighter, a +5 unlimited ammo crossbow, monkspeed, 10 blinds, 25 maxed magic missiles, could buff you with flame weapon, improved invis, freedom, and more, had a ridiculous DC Mass Blind/Deaf.
Th CE summon on the other hand was a dual weilding rogue without skill points and wuthout weapon Finesse.
No surprise, the maker played an NE blackguard.
