Pretty sure size doesn't increase the radius.. I made a dragon-barb build and it didn't...

No, it doesn't increase the size of the aura. "Dragon Fear" is its own aura property in NWN, and it's that property that makes the massive aura.

What do you guys think of SD heavy builds? When it comes to PrCs I prefer to go the whole way and take the full 10 levels, or maybe more. More flavoursome. I'm thinking something like Monk12/Ranger5/SD13? (8/4/8 @ 20). That Shadow Daze seems nice, when everyone builds for Fort, and the Epic Shadowlord is something to consider. I like reskinnng summons.

Would a 10 Monk/10 CoT/10 WM be any good going the kama route..? There's this neat protagonist in this game I was playing that I think would fit that.

First, 10WM net's you nothing. It's either 5 7 13 or 16WM. 7WM/10COT/13Monk could do better? You'll get Monk Poison immunity and some Spell resistance that way. I 'strongly' suggest you make it a DEX char.

You need 10 Monk just to qualify for COT, but I'm sure you'll also want to Tumble-dump at epics. So you need at least 11 Monk. If you can only spare to feats, you could try 11/6/13 Monk/COT/WM. But you'll probably do better with just 7 WM, yes. WM is either 5, 7, 13 or 16.

That build you mentioned there will end up DEX-based with no sneak attack though, which leaves it depressingly weak. 10 Ranger/13 SD/7 WM or 11 Rogue/6 Fighter/13 SD probably work better, but at the end of the day, you can still do the same thing with Rogue levels since it gains feats at the same rate as an epic SD, with the added bonus of sneak attack. Personally, I just stick to 10 SD.

How about some combination of Monk, Epic SD, and Rogue? Better for the sneak attacks and the skill points, certainly, if not the attack bonus. 9/13/8, 9/16/5, 12/13/5, 12/16/2. 7/13/10, 10/13/7, etc, etc. I'll have to think about it.

6 Monk/11 Rogue/13 SD? I admit I haven't looked into it too much, but it gives you IKD for free along with a semi-decent amount of rogue levels. You can also take 10 WIS and get the full use of the +6 AC bonus.

Rogue11/SD13/Monk6. Going more Monk won't grant you any super bonuses (well, of course AC is always super), because you've already got Improved Evasion from SD, but then you'd have to invest more points in WIS and not sure how well that pays off in the end, when you could choose Crippling and more damage instead.
11/13/6 would be my pick at least, if I were to choose a combination of those three classes with Epic SD.

Yush, it's not but any additional AC is often made Dodge AC. It might even be some miscellaneous type of AC that always stacks, but not sure if that's even possible to make. I don't know a poo about scripting and the -real- mechanics of the game.
Uh, I'd personally use "bonuses". Never seen "boni" used anywhere, except by Chris and he's a total Kiwibrain (kiwi = handicap, because the bird looks so retarded and the fruit's hairy).

I don't dare to make suggestions on barbarians at this point. We don't know how the rages will operate, so im basically putting my Barbarian idea on hold until the Final word from the Dev.Team comes in...
er... But yes, The 'Current' rages does give a minor Dodge bonus which stacks with the boots.

Boni is the correct masculine plural nominative case of the Latin adjective bona/bonus/bonum. It's not exactly English, though. Especially considering the horrible pronunciation you'd have in English! Something like "Bone-eye" or "Boney", I bet.

I dig the image of a monk dual-wielding kamas. So I'm wondering about a Ranger/Monk build. And it would be on a halfling. I know Rangers rely on their Animal Companions, so I want a lot of Ranger levels so that's as strong as possible.
Does Ranger 25 / Monk 5 sound good? I'm thinking Str-based, with Wis-15 to get max Monk AC bonus and access to all Ranger spells.
Any better suggestion?

Any better suggestion? No less than 25 ranger levels, Else the Ranger and the pet will be absolutely BLEEH. Not saying you cant, im saying it's not a good idea. Maybe 25Ranger/3Monk/2Fighter, One level monk pre-Epic to take Kama Proficiency. You'll loose 6Damage/1AB from not taking epic.Wep.Spec, But you will gain 3 attacks. *Shrug* Mosh or Opustus can tell you more. I recall they are the 'Ranger' Experts

Howdy guys. I'm wanting to make me an Orog who has aspirations to become a Chosen of Gruumsh. I'm not really wanting to go with cleric for some reason, not really sure why. My thoughts are 14 Blackguard/ 6 fighter/ 10 sorc. I was wanting him to have some high charisma to take advantage of the BG benefits and the synergy from BG and Sorc. I'm just not sure if he will be AB starved.
If I do it this way I can also take advantage of the other BG spells that Amia gives.
Str 16 Dex 6 (Due to Orog stats) Int 12 Wis 14 (To gain all BG spells from Amia) Cha 16 Con 14
I guess the question I am really wanting to know is is it worth to go 14 Wis for those Amia Spells? And do you think I can hit something. Dex is 6, but I will be wearing full-plate and have a shield so I didnt think it would be that important and Orogs get +2 AC.

That combo is tough, it's way out there. I like the idea but it'll be hella gimped.
Orogs have an ECL of +2 by the way. You should end up with around 42-43 AB if you focus on it. You'll be okay in PvM, with a party. You won't be hitting other PCs though.
And as for the BG spells... yes, they are worth it. I can't imagine a BG without them.

If you're looking for other Kama-Ranger builds, check out 3 Monk/ 10 Ranger/ 17 Rogue. Epic Dodging sneak spammer with a well rounded assortment of skills. It's not Ranger heavy but it's got enough to still have the fluffy animal companion.

Looking at my new build: 17 cleric 10 BG 1 Rogue
Ive picked the following non negotiable feats:
1) Power Attack 3) Cleave 6) Divine Shield 9) Divine Might 12) Imp Crit 15) Extend Spell 18) ??? 21) esf Spot 24) ??? 27) ???
Could anyone help me fill in the gaps? I was thinking Max spell, but I could just spam use per day items for the stat spells. Why does everyone take Blindfight? And is it worth an Epic feat for IKD? What about ESF discipline? Bear in mind, I will suck at PvP regardless of build so focus on PVM, please.

Allright. Let's first and foremost state, that you are a Melee cleric. No matter what happens.
First question - Are you intending to go the Dev.crit route?

On a str monk, which skills better to invest in: Heal and craft skill or Hide and MS? I see good reason for both, but leaning towards Heal and Craft skill since Heal pot spam is now impossible and Hide and MS skill would never be very good anyway.

I cannot make a estimation without knowing how many skill-points you can invest in, sorry. Whats your Int score / race / Classes. I could recommend Hide/MS, But i wouldn't know since i don't know what other skills you have invested in.

My STR based monk took Heal, and I love it, with decend buffed WIS he do a great job with those healing kits. Not having to worry about hide and ms also opens up for mythal forging others things than sneakiness which my DEX monk had to.

I've reconsidered my Ranger-25/Monk-5, and I think I'll do it on a Wood Elf. Going STR-based, I can get STR-26. I'm wondering, with the Dev Crit nerf, is it worth the bother? On dual-wielded kamas mind you.
Feats I know I want to take: Blind Fight, Power Attack, Great Cleave, Wpn Focus.
That leaves 3 others. Options: Expertise, Impv'd Expertise, KD, IKD, Impv'd Crit (for Dev Crit)
Epic Feats would be: Grt STR I/II Overwhelm Crit, Dev Crit (or some other combo if I didn't go the crit-route)
Bane of Enemies and EWF as Ranger epic feats.
So my questions are: 1) Is it worth it to take the 3 Crit feats for Dev Crit? 2) What other combination of feats would be good for this build? Is Impv'd Expertise better than IKD or visa versa? Either way, I'd need 13 INT, and I'm not excited about that prospect, so it'd better be worth the bother.

Improved Knockdown is far better than Improved Expertise, and take Improved Critical even if you're not going for Devestating Critical.

Go 19, not 20. 5 rogue/6 SD/19 assassin. You're not going to have epicddge or improved evasion and your skills will be a bit wonky, though.

Is he going to be feat starved or does the build leave any room for variations? ability scores? level taking progression?

not really feat starved at all, no. As for ability scores you want high dexterity and intelligence.

Yeah, its not possible to have 20 levels and HiPS. You need to start with at least 5 levels of a Sneak class before you can qualify to be an Assassin. With the 6 SD levels, max of 19. Lots of cool points for epic PrC, but you might be better off with more Rogue levels. Or you could use Monk - I think you can get 15 Assassin levels on an Epic Dodging HiPSer if you use that. 9/6/15?

Sun Dog wrote: I've reconsidered my Ranger-25/Monk-5, and I think I'll do it on a Wood Elf.
The gave you erroneous information earlier in the thread. When I retooled the Companions for Epic Levels I made their progression somewhat level. 23 Ranger 1 Fighter 6 Monk might work for you and the pet will still be good for PvM.

Still working on the Ranger/Monk. If IKD is really worth having, what about 6 Monk to get it for free. That would mean I could go:
23 Ranger 6 Monk 1 Fighter
I wouldn't loose out on any epic feats, but it would nerf the Animal Companion. I'd gain IKD (albeit not until lvl 27), increased monk speed, and 2 feats (maybe for impv'd expertise or whatever).
On the surface, it looks like a pretty decent build, but I'm wondering: is the Animal Companion too greatly weakened by not getting that +5 claw enhancement, and whatever else they get at lvl 25?
That's the crux of this build.
Suggestions?
ed: I see Mosh posted my revised build before I did. I'll take that as a good sign. I think I'll try to go with it.

Just a quick question: For the epic mummy spell, nwnwiki says:
Prerequisite: 21st level, the ability to cast 9th level spells, spellcraft 15
Is that all?, some says one also has to have 20 in WIS/INT/CHA, or is that only the dragon Knight, or none of them?
Also: I see odd monken orcs and constructs as epic summons, are they "just" reskinned mummies or dragons, are there other options, where can one read about those?

You need 20WIS/INT/CHA to cast Epic summons yes.
There's a different set of summons out there, pick one that fits your RP. They'r all good.
