Also if you just get dropped to one XP below level (or just level up normally) and take the level it will be given to you (even if its not the level you took Epic Mummy Dust)

Doesn't work.

I used the scroll but didn't read the description too good. Now I am stuck with some magical beast. Can a DM remove the scroll and drop me a level (so i can take the feat again) and thus turn my summon back into the default undead shape?

Just dropping and taking the feat all over again didn't work. The DM told me to get it reskinned with DC's. So, I'll have to pay DC's to make my summon back to it's natural form. o.O THat's just as lame as me using the scroll without reading the description.

Please help me out. All I want is my summon to be undead, as the default Amia spell. Is there a solution?

A new scroll can be given without the need for a Delevel. DM just needs to make sure the original scroll is removed before the new scroll is given.

Requests go through the correct request form as I highlighted in the opening post.

-If- any DM is changing scrolls without having a request put through the DM boards et al for anyone other than myself or a Tester it completely defeats the purpose of the scrolls.

I will note you are the fourth person I've witnessed requesting to change from Magical Beast to something else or default back to undead. This has only been occurring since I fixed the Sirrush. This is the reason that any change requests look immensely suspect.

Thanks!

No, you have to put up a request in the request forum.

I don't know anything about a "fix" by the way, since I only took the feat yesterday or the day before... It's not a power issue here... The summon rocks really, I just like the undead better.

Then why didn't you select the undead when you levelled up? If undead fits your character better then... well.

Trial and Error. Sounds like an obvious case of it.

Trial and error for what, though? That only matters if you're only trying to pick the best summon for how strong it is. You can look at a list and easy pick which bests fits your PC's RP though, which is why we added these changes.

Aye. For what, though.

@blink - Take it from a player whom have tested all the mummy dust variants. I've got 7 Epic casters; and i can safely witness that they're all equally good. They have strong sides and downsides; but ...It all comes down to the fact that, this is a Roleplaying enviroment, and you will only suffer yourself if you "try" to pick the best one 'Statwise'.
This is because that

#1 - Mosh is an excellent balancer in terms of Critters. He can guarantee, that its the same shit, just different package.
#2 - People 'Will' look down upon you if you grab, say ...Mummy dust on a Druid. For the sole fact that it's the best statwise.

Why do you think this is a "power issue"? I already stated that it's not, and if the monsters are balanced it shouldn't matter if I would like to have it changed back right?

Well, Yes. It shouldn't matter... But there's a lot of people out there that... aren't entirely honest.

Question-

If I choose the Air elemental and get a reskin to make it appear as a large Fire Elemental, it would have odd abilities for something that appears as a Fire Elemental, right?

Do I have to level up for the Bear skin to change to Grizzly? My Druid is already lvl 28, but hasn't levelled since the changes came in effect.

Okay, My character will require a reskin for his epic elemental to look like a giant Fire Elemental to better fit him rp wise.

My question is this: Do I need 10 DCs for a reskin if it's just for the summon to look like a large Fire Elemental instead of a large Air elemental?

No fairly about it, reskins of summons cost exactly what they did before the change and thats 10 DC's + Request + RP.

You mean I cant just ask 1 dm to get a scroll, then try another dm, and so forth till I get the strongest summon? Thats BS, I want a powerbuild damnit! I'll fit my rp around it! Ugh!

you could powerlevel a few characters to try them all out.
It takes less than a week to hit epic levels.

I hate you for encouraging this and I want to see a soft cap implemented now to force you skags to roleplay before hitting max level since that's all you care about.

It is actually adviced you do the request before taking Epic Mummy Dust at all, so it won't come as a disappointment if it doesn't get approved.

I'd support a softcap really. There was talk about it sometime ago. Did the team even discuss implementing it?

Likely not. Familiars are generally small (magical)creatures. Beholders are relatively large and as well are fairly advanced in terms of culture, personality. And there's already a beholder summon.

Though I am likely being slightly hypocritical. I've RPed my eyeball as a runt beholder forever >_> *cough* But in my defense, I did go through a huge arc helping him get over the dual personality thing inherent to all beholders.

I am sorry if this was already asked and answered, but I did not want to read all 5 pages of this discussion.

I have a character that will soon get an Epic Summon and I came here to check what kind of creature she can have.

However, upon reading the main post, I saw that the Epic Summons all need focus in a specific spell school. If I do not have spell focus, I will not be able to change my summon?

I think you only need the respective spell focii to extended that particular summon. Like necromancy for Sentinel, er...something something conjuration for...something. It's there somehwere. >.>

But yeah, you should still get the summoning book on taking EMD I think. Just it won't have extended duration. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't taken it on a PC.

The focus in the spell school only extends the duration of your summon from turns to hours. And yush, the book spawns into your inventory once you pick the feat.
