I can see an IC plot brewing and now we are asking for support, whether it's an collective effort or not. I just hope the effort in the RP is not overlooked.

I think your first problem is asking for "Support". I don't support or deny this plot. I am a neutral entity 3rd party that happens to play NPCs that might go either way... But whether or not you succeed and fail is on your shoulders.

This is precisely why so many of you in the playerbase are so damned frustrating. I keep trying to figure it out, but arguments like yours continue to pop up, and there are only two conclusions I can come to to account for them:

1) You are lazy and do not want to do the work yourself, leaving it up to the DM to be the one responsible to make or break your faction and not you. And if not laziness, then it is because you want to be able to blame a DM for your failures (the DM was the one responsible for everything, not me, wah!) while taking every drop of credit for the success on your own shoulders (not a new development by any means);

2) You think that we DMs are here to "broker a deal" with you that allows you to succeed in whatever you are setting out to do in advance, while we just make up the details as we go along. And, at the end of the day, if things don't go your way, you do exactly as others have done: "Waaah, you promised I would get to do/have/be X!" If you think this doesn't happen, you're wrong. It does.

I believe the mentality from #2 stems from the way we have traditionally handled DC requests, and I've already told the rest of the team that I think so (even if they disagree with me). So many of you think that the DCs you're given are your early "proof of purchase" on a special DC Request Item. That we OWE you when you make a request, and you don't have to do any kind of work at all. Maybe just...write a paragraph, make some crap up off the top of your head, and BAM, you're a number ahead of the game.

No, the way we handle DC requests won't be changing any time soon. I'm just having an elitist moment, I think, and bitching.

Player A: I have 50 DC's. I want wings!

DM: But why do you spontaneously grow wings?

Player A: Because, I want them! *Holds up the DCs*

DM: But what causes them to spontaneously grow in?

Player A: But the Website says they're only 50 DC's. I have 50! Do they come in Chartreuse?

DM: Your character is a dwarf, why would a dwarf spontaneously have wings pop out? Is there supporting RP for it..?

Player A: Okay, um, he was drinking a whole lot one night, and he finds a 'special potion' of deus ex machina! that looked remarkably like ale, and was left on the bar, and no one else had drank it, accidentally.. and wing's pop out!

DM: Um, there's not a potion that does that.. and why would it be in a..

Player A: Okay, would it be easier if I asked for the feathered wings instead? He could get them from habitually retroactively having been drinking 'Bloody mary's' made with the blood of nibblers to bulk up, and for a dare he swallows a Mythal, and then the next time he's in the bathroom, he's straining really hard..and PLOP!... wings!

DM: ...No.

Honestly, your first mistake was hanging around Cordor and expecting fun to take place. I never wait for things to happen. I make them happen...or die trying anyways...heh. (let me reword that cause Cordor can be fun....."expecting conducive RP concerning your faction to take place.")

If you wanted a place for dragons and you know or even suspect that there's room in Amia B, then I would be no where near Cordor. I'd be in Amia B, looking for a new big spot....maybe even a crappy town to simply overthrow by mere force of presence.

Secondly, NEVER expect a DM to run/entertain your faction. A faction has a point...a purpose. Yours should have been to find a home. Furthermore the purpose comes before the faction. A faction without purpose is pointless. If your factions purpose was standing in cordor of all places....your faction needs an evaluation.

Thirdly, if a place has already been destroyed, it's gone. That's it. Bringing it back is like taking what makes Amia persistent, away. Don't call it Wyrmhold...call it something else...hell even something better. Hells simply call it Dragon's Haven or Fanghold or something....or New Wyrmhold...but not the same exact title.

And finally....seriously all you did was stand in Cordor and expect extreme RP to come your way? Damn....

Anyhow, I am for something for dragonkin. Wyrmhold in the same place is definitely a NO. Why would any smart dragon put Wyrmhold in the SAME exact place that it fell?...that makes no sense even from an OOC perspective, let alone an IC one.

Remember, first comes a purpose, then a faction. A faction without purpose is no faction...it's a group of people together with no sense of direction.

I am for SOMETHING for Dragonkin....but only because ICly Quar'agh put the idea of a bigger and better Wyrmhold in the mind of a certain blue half dragon beauty.

PS BTW Faction RP is not the responsibility of the DMs IN ANY WAY. I blame your faction leader for it honestly, for it is THEIR responsibility to make the RP happen, not the DMs.

Every request needs sufficient RP to satisfy the DMs, which I think is a great idea.
Personally, I go out of my way to do extra RP to get what I request, beyond what I think I need, because the journey is just as important to what my character becomes as what the result is.
