Goddamnit...No wonder the Marut Inevitable sucked, and the Sirrush was OK. I bet the Air elemental is insane...

I thought you meant the old ones.

The new ones were, but as Ron said, you really can't truly tell without some live action. Mosh is on the case, never fear.

Th CE summon on the other hand was a dual weilding rogue without skill points and wuthout weapon Finesse.

No surprise, the maker played an NE blackguard.

Right, but his current Fort is 16, shouldn't it be a little higher since he also has some Cost bonus ? and 40-45 Charism ? Also, why his dex was blocked ? I can't raise it up with potions.

No, because he's a caster, and the only reason PC mages have the fort they do is because of +20 fort visa mythal. You're just used to the broken good one. It's not going back.

Trust me Alamut, I used to party with a BG with that summon and we never lost a pvp, never lost a bossfight. . .well yeah we never lost, we did everything with Zero risk because of a summon, so it got nerfed. Thats how I roll.

Well, thank you for sharing that. I feel a little better now. I just have to wait till the pain goes away. :D
I might have to agree with it. But the reason I made some noise about it it's because BGs need a few more implements in my opinion. The HAK made something, but I have the feeling that a few others things could be done, like GMW, negative damage turned to divine damage and blah blah... It's an old wound that I hope I could see it healed sometime (turns on a dramatic song).

I swear that hooded guy in blue still reminds me of some sort of construct other than a Marut. Its legs looks shiny. But they're reversed, so maybe it's a Lupinal? Better question is why am I doing this when I had homework due in 5 hours. :?

Wait...bear still has more ab than a WM now with KD and cleave to boot...

Well, suppose that does make it slightly not as uber PVP.

The bear on my level 26 ranger had 40 AB and 28 AC. If your AB don't even break 40 AB, you're doing something wrong buildwise. Average WM AB lies around 47-50 on average without maxed AB Bonus.
And the 28 AC and medium saves will mean it won't last long in PvP, even with 300 hp.

Yehhhhhh.....

Character sheet lies. Just tested this now on my level 27 druid. 53AB with GMW and bulls...55 likely with aura of vitality too...57 if you count aid/bless pots. Funnily enough i also rolled a 20 which made it a whopping 73...ok fair enough we dont count that but still...53 is a bit much (far in excess of your "average WM") and now the bear is wielding Great Cleave too. Poor Firegiants...

The statement "If you're AB doesn't even break 40, you're doing something wrong buildwise" is silly...almost as silly as an animal companion with 57AB. Regardless, even if it wont last long, my bear is still hitting for 40damage a hit, more now that i can spam FW as well as the berries. You also have your druid/Ranger as well, who are by no means weak in PVP (assuming you know what you're doing).

Bear needs to lose some AB. Monkeystomping from level 1 to 15 as a druid in a morning's worth of play is absurd by any standard.

Yeaaah... But the saves suck, and so does the AC. It's basically Glass-cannon, it has downsides and upsides...

Edit:: They all have downsides, upsides...

Maybe. Glass cannon is still a cannon though and PVM it just monkeystomps. Its not too shabby pvp either for aforementioned reasons. I personally feel bear needs to be reworked but i've said my two cents and this has been brought up repeatedly in the past anyway.

Mine's 38 when spawned. (26 Ranger levels). GMW will do nothing for the bear, as at that high levels it gets +5 Enchantment bonus already. So no bonus from GMW or Greater Magic Fang. Bulls can boost it by 1-2 more, and with awaken, another 1. Aura of vitality will boost it by 2-3 depending on the bull's giving odd or even boost.

So that's mid-high 40's AFTER buffs. Same as most builds. You say 40's for average WMs is wrong, though if you take into the account that just about all WMs have 25 BAB, or 24, weapon focus, epic weapon focus, Superior weapon focus 1 or 2. Then take in the STR or DEX modifiers depending on your char. So on average that's 13 Mod on a standard level 30-ish char gear(+10 or 12 STR from items: x2 +3 STR rings, x1 +4 STR gloves, x1 Belt with +2 STR and Freedom). Then throw in +4 Enchantment bonus. 45-ish easy. Then comes the bless and other AB boosts you can get your hands on.

YES the AB is about the same as a equal level WM, but you're failing to take into account the fact that there's plenty of other summons that surpass it. Dragons for instance. Planetars too, if I recall.

The Bear's got a high AB, 3 attacks (Where a WM have 4-5.) and 2d10 + STRMOD damage. I wasn't aware of the fact taht the berries and flame weapon stacks. (at least it didn't when I gave my bear both frost berry and flame weapon and attacked a frost giant.)

Though in teh end, yes the Bear has high AB, 3 attacks and a decent damage output. About 35 average or so.

Buffed from a ranger, it ends up with 32-34 AC. 350-ish HP and 28 Fort.

It is going to be stronger than that for druids, but Druids trade combat prowess for more spells and stronger pet buffs. Also most spells are easily avoided in PvP or PvE thanks to high saves and mantles, which makes them rely on pets purely while they try to survive. (Unless they've gone cheese and have a dragonshape feat up their sleeve)

My Bear can't take on the spires alone, without me doing most of the hitting either, because of the crits from giants and the sneak attacking dogs. I end up using around 20-25 healkits on it from 1 run. It's less than my Sorcerer uses on his dominated minions, and less than an epic summon too I wager. Probably around the same as a level 9 summon, in terms of survivability and if my Char didn't have a Bear for IC reasons, I'd rather go with a dire wolf or test the new and improved tanking Badger.

I disagree with you that it's too strong, but if this was a summon for arcane casters or clerics I'd agree completely. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the Balance people disagreed with me.

This came kind of just in time for me. I think next level on Weston I have a build plan to take EDK which I was trying desperately to figure out how to reskin since Weston is not the kind of fellow to be summoning dragons. I mean, he's run from a few in his lifetime, it's a thing of awe to still see a real dragon in Weston's mind. So calling one says something!

Anyways, the Sirrush sounds pretty good, once I found any information on what that even is. Which was not easy either with only online as a resource. I'm thinking it'll be easier to justify the re-skin I am really hoping for without having to explain why a creature normally of the desert would be spitting cold breath attack. :D

And I like the choices for different Epic Focuses being implimented. That's a nice way to make the epic summons more open to variety on builds!

Nope I knew the AB thing would come up.

So rather than bickering and watching you chaps engage in a pointless game of oneupmanship I will tell you whats going to happen.

Due to the fact I am now engaging in familiar changes, after those are done I am going to have the Companions Script changed. Rather than +2AB/5 levels it will be +1 AB/5 levels. Non Negotiable change.

Thankyou.

Oh and for all you gits out there
The Bear gets 20AB + 10str + 12 Amia + 5 Enhancement + 2 Awakening + 3 - 6 Buffed Str at 25 for 52 - 55 AB.

12 Amia + 5 Enhancment + 2 Awakening = 19. . .ergo at 30 adding two more AB will cap that to +20 AB cap for a max of 56. Since all the other Combat stats for all the other summons have been raised the intuitive AB buff can go down. That is the only reason you were getting 2 AB every 5 CL to make the other companions viable at all.

Noticed the Animal Companions gets more and more feats per level; but when do they stop getting their feats?

Do they have everything at 25 or ?

Nobody has all its feats at 25; so, no, sometimes it ends at 30.

The Companion Script is Natural AC not neutral AC as it states in the log and its staying like that to maintain the integrity of the companions. Or until Terra Docks 5 AC from the script and changes it over to neutral AC.

Natural AC seems a logical AC for it to be, to be honest, since it is the toughness of their hide.

Well that makes a lot more sense then, didn't want it really changed just wasn't sure if it was a bug or something. So thanks for the clearing up that issue, had no idea what was up with it.

When I've finished the familiars, which wont be for awhile since I'm taking a break from doing things for PC's, the Animal Companion/Familiars script is going to be changed to:

1 - 14 = 5 Physical Reduction
15 - 29 = 10 Physical Reduction
30 = 15 Physical Reduction
+1 AB/5 Levels

why not just put it in...?
mages can get around without their familiar anyways.

Familiar is kind of important early on.

It wont have much effect on early familiars Dwagin. At those levels 1 AB isn't going to be game breaking, not with Shelgarns broken knife.

I'll nudge Terra or Jehran then, should have thought of that myself Belgian cheers.
