Hello,
I've just started playing on this server. I only have a couple characters, neither of them above level 3. All I've really done so far is run around Cordor a bit.
So that said, please be patient with me if I'm missing something obvious here, or if I'm posting this in the wrong place.
Here's my issue:
Every time I log in to the server, I am able to load the entrance area and see my character for about a split second, then I get a "You have been booted!" message. This has happened over and over. I'm not sure why. As I've already said, I've barely played on the server, so I don't know why I would have received any kind of a ban.
My only guess is that I recently changed the CD-key associated with my account and I've been trying to log in with this new CD-key. The reason I changed CD keys is because I bought my version of NWN: Diamond from GOG.com and found out after trying to play the game online for a bit that I actually had to request a unique CD key from them for online play (I was getting a lot of "CD key in use" messages and had no idea why - turns out my CD key wasn't unique). I'm not sure why I would be getting automatically booted upon entry to server because my CD key is different, but that's the only reason I can think of.
Anyway, I'd very much like to play on this server. So if you can provide me with any help, it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks,
- PI

It's 'cause you got new CD keys, yeah. You need to login in with a brand new character and have a DM authorize the keys for you. Any new char should do, named "Test" or whatever.

You don't normally get booted after swapping CD keys, it's not an NWN feature but an Amia feature. It's our way of preventing hijacking of accounts when the Master Server is down. Just ask Suney for details on that nasty exploit, lol.

Try to look to see when a DM is on via the population menu on the upper potion of the navigation pane.
They may be able to assist you at that time.
Its a fairly simple process, but understand sometimes they are busy and we're all volunteers here.
Thanks for the interest in Amia, and I hope you are able get it sorted swiftly.
Edit:PAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIINEEEEEEEE

Okay, I'm feeling a little foolish here.
How exactly do I figure out when a DM is online, and once I do, how do I contact them?

I'm on right Amia: Islands now, if it helps. I'm generally on laaate nights EST time zone, either as a player or DM.

You can also check the sidebar! It's usually correct, unless the DM just logged out before the page refreshed.

If the population list says randomnumber/65 (1 DM) Or more in the DM bracket, there's a DM online, you then log into the server with a character which isnt one of the ones you get booted on and then type /dm Hello! I hope you're not busy but I am having a character validation issue, and i need this CD key added to my account please. I posted about this on the forum under general help.

Thanks Dwagin! I appreciate the detailed response. I'm a visual learner so the screenshot is great. Heh.
