I want one of my characters to be an Inventor/Engineer/Scribe. How do I know how many points in each thing I need to do everything I want? For example if I split all my points between the 3 jobs equally will I be able to do everything fully? Will I be able to produce all the things that the Inventory/Engineer can produce and write on all the job system's items as a scribe?

The way I see it if you want to invent new things (inventor) you must have an understanding on how things work (engineer) and anyone who is that intelligent should know how to read/write because he most likely received a good ammount of education. Plus a person like that would have a lot to record in his notes/journal as he experiments.

So what I want to know, would he be a half arsed inventor/engineer/scribe if he split the points between the 3 jobs or he would just have less chance to receive xp or succeed at making the item but still would have a good chance at making everything he wants?

Do any of the recipes require you to be a certain lvl in the job to make it?

Also note, this character would havean ecl+2.

ECL is irrelevant to job points. Everyone tops out at 27.

You can make anything with any rank, unless theres some exception im not aware of. More ranks just increases the chances of being successful, and the amount of XP you get for being successful.
