Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place or I'm out of line by posting it, but the perma-death thread seems to have its own discussion going on and doesn't necessarily seem a good place for this type of discussion because it has all its own features to talk about.

I'm making this thread so we can get an idea of what the playerbase would like to see in place for death rules (please provide both spectrumes - hardcore and lax). I would like for everyone to put forth their ideas if they would, in an organized format such as what's shown below.

I personally think the death rules we have right now are pretty lax but adequately harsh in the right ways). Here's my take on a good death option:

Classic Resurrection:
    -Normal XP and gold loss.
-Character chooses whether or not they would like to be permanently dead upon death.
-Character's soul is transported to fugue plane while corpse remains behind on material plane.
-Character's soul must remain on the fugue plane for a certain amount of time (# of resets?) based on level or until their companions raise their corpse on the material plane.
-Only clerics with healing domain can cast raise dead - no scrolls (this caters to the more hardcore players).
-After appropriate amount of time has passed, player's soul is returned to their body and they are returned to their home point for that realm by the grace of their deity.

More severe than presently since some of the players attitude towards death is outright disheartning. I am not so much inclined towards perma and would prefere instead

- Longer waiting period on the fungue plane
- Cooldown on raise dead scrolls

Not opposed to other ideas either.
