how come when yer in stealth mode your character stands/walks straight up and stiff as a board? I have never seen anyone, whether it be in real life or tv/movies stand up straight as a board when they are trying to be stealthy. ok so this is more of a rant than anything...have a good day! 8)

Poor game design... If you take a close look everything seems to be made to either not work or look illogical.

Hell, the only time I've seen people -walk- straight as a board, its when they're marching in ranks. Or when they're trying to see over someone. :D

Just dont worry about it. When you play enough, you get to the point where you really dont know the difference between game mechanics and player emotes. It all just meshes together.

NWN2 has proper sneaky animations. Looks funny as hell when playing a half orc.

Because the makers worried more about gameplay than actual realistic appearances for things such as that, I would guess.

Everything has a problem like that if you look closely.

It's better than KotOR II, at least. You can run at full speed in that, without anyone seeing you.

Well, you're still playing it so they obviously did something right.

I have to argue they had more design in RotoR then in NWN, atleast things look a bit logical there. Except the for the concrete asses of the female models...

As for why I'm still playing... Like the quite on the site says. I don't play NWN I play Amia. I never gave the game itself a second look, same goes for Icewind Dale and Buldurs Gate. Most crappy games every, I just like the RP and management on Amia

just like I don't play Warcraft III, I play DotA...

anyways, I'm sure there is something out there that you can stick in your override folder to fix the upright sneak problem. I am just not the person to ask for it... idk where you would look either... anyone?

If only gaming companies could get:

I miss the old days.

I agree. I still play Bolo every now and then, if anyone knows what that is.

Probably not, cause I believe it was a Mac only game... >.>

I'd probably go:

playing experience >> graphics.

It is exceedingly important that the playing experience is good .. people tend to be more forgiving on the graphics, then.

I like Hearts of Iron:II, Doomsday. Which, amongst other things, has nearly no and certainly no awful moving bits of graphic eyecandy. I play the game with the NATO counters on!

I'd love it if the animations for stealth were visibly different; with a few Spotter characters, it's very frustrating to have no way of knowing when someone is in stealth. At least with Listen they stay half-shaded.

Alas, there's nothing that can be done - going into stealth has no hooky thingie for custom scripters or animators to work off.

This is the only real drawback. Cause the sneaker doesn't know he is found out and the looker doesn't know the sneaker is sneaking.

Dwarven Fortress: The ultimate equation of gameplay over graphics.
